Look at the stamp and see what it says - It should say something about authorized to work - if you aren't authorized it says that - But I would think you could prove that he has authorization to work if someone pushed it beyond - Just give them the info from the USCIS site -

Yes. And it's a given that it was needed.

Just wanted to let everyone know that my husband and I found out on Oct 29th that we got our interview for December 4th at 7:30 a.m.!!!! I already bought his ticket to fly home to Austin, Texas with me on January 3rd after spending the holidays there with him!!! Best wishes to all of our Yardies!!!

~Heidi

Congrats.

Forever..was that the affidavit of support ? sorry about the delay but other than that ur Golden like u sid :) Congrats

Thank You!

The 864A is a Contract btw the Sponsor and the Household Member. My sponsor is married and they just want them both to sign the form. There were some interesting events at the embassy though, and it seemed a lot of people were missing that form, however neither USCIS or NVC asked us to fill it out so we were kind of upset about that lack of communication. The interview itself was short. She was very nice. We were sworn in. She asked:

-Have you ever been convicted of a crime or have problems with police?

-Have you ever traveled to the US

- Did you guys meet in the US?

- She asked my SO if she was Jamaican by birth

- Do you have children?

- Were either of you previously married?

Then she explained the form, handed it us and we have to return in 2 weeks and collect the visa.

That's all.

There was a family there that got into a lot of trouble because the husband lied about his police record. The lady we saw was the only one doing interviews. The interviewer was very upset with him and his lies. My SO was reading her lips and this is what she found out:

- he was arrested for armed robbery and served 4 years

- he had another arrest that his wife knew nothing about and he lied about it to the Officer.

- the Officer asked if he ever went to the US. he said yes. She asked for his passport. He hesitated. He then admitted to going up on someone

else's visa.

- She asked have you ever overstayed in the US. he said no. (conversation uncertain) but he was deported at some point

However the Officer had his record once he did the fingerprint, and I guess he didnt figure out they had all of that information on him.

They were told to wait for a phone call once the information she had on them was confirmed. The case may be sent back to the US since it

thats where his offenses occured.

Key: Assume they know EVERYTHING!

They are going to be denied. I know someone in the same situation. Once you admit you used someone else's passport, it's a ban.

Thanks for the prayers JGay. What a bummer.

We have really debated (when the time comes) if I will be able to go to the interview either. Im just not sure i will be able to, both financially and schedule wise.

I will keep you guys in my prayers!

I thought that was mostly K-1. I have never really heard about Cr-1 getting a hardtime. Only that one person that got a slip because a form was incorrect.

My husband didn't get his yet...usually he get his a week after i received mine but I plan to mail him the letter I received on Monday...I am sending him more "evidence" anyway so i decided to just mail him that as well....I really wanted to go since I know my husband gets really nervous around people he don't know so at least if i am there his nerves will be somewhat calm...but like shrew said it seems they give K-1 more of a hard time if their SO are not their but I would just like to be on the safe side since you never know...Tash was a CR-1 and her hubby went by himself and he got through just fine...I hope my husband's interview turn out the same way.... :innocent:
