Hi my case was complete on 4/15/08 and I'm awaiting interview date. Can I be added on the list?

That's good news Tash...welcome to the wait. A lot of people still waiting for dates. Wishing you an early interview date.

I am now a legal permanent resident with my passport stamped. Federal Plaza this morning... :)

Vawa;

I don't know you, but I'm proud of you. You made it through. A girlfriend of mine is going through the same thing and her (soon to be ex) hired an expensive lawyer and they're giving her hell. I'll tell her there's hope and to keep the faith.

Trelawny - my lawyers...all five of them...were free. I had one for housing, one for family, two for divorce, and one for immigration. The only court where I didn't need a lawyer, was criminal court. Tell your friend that this will pass, and always remember, what's done in the dark, always come to light.

Thanks girl and I truly believe in "what's done in the dar, will come to light"

I am hanging in there. Suppose to have surgery on the ankle on Monday. AJ can't hold the ticket after June 24. So I can either pay the $100 change and also the new ticket price or loss the the money.

According to the doctor traveling may not be the best option but she will give me a note so my husband can take to the embsssy. That is if we get an interview for July.

Gosh Forbes,

Sorry to hear that babes. Praying for a speedy recovery. Wow, the tickets on AJ will be high in July, so it may be better if the interview is in August. I know you don't want that, but you'll have time to heal and recovery. I'll keep checking on you.

I truly and truly and truly hope I get an interview especially since I will be there during the last week in August....I checked the embassy calendar and saw that Tuesdays, and Wednesdays were all left blank so I'm hoping they left does days just for CR-1 visas...and bang out 200 CR-1 visas in a day...wishful thinking??? ....i hope not... ...i emailed the embassy begging and pleading that they must find a way to accomdates those on CR-1 visas because we are experiencing a 4-5 month wait just for an interview date...i hope they listened...even though they never emailed me back a response to my request....

I noticed tuesday and wednesday open on that calendar too. It used to be jus Tuesdays were left to process family visas. So maybe they are seeing a need to process them on Tuesdays and Wednesdays too. That would be great. I cant beleive they only leave 1 day a week to process these visas. No wonder they are so backed up.

Thanks, but up until Friday, still nothing on my end, however they say they are still scheduling, so I just call back next week.

I called them today and they said they are still scheduling for August and to call back on the 18th....I probably won't get an interview for August since my case was just completed June 18...especially if there are people waiting since March...I really hope I do though... ...I tried to ask the NVC operator if they can let me know what completion date they are up to but she said they do not have that type of information...oh well...this part is so depressing...at least when getting the paper work together it kinda kept your mind busy but knowing you are done and just waiting for the date is torture...I am so ready to go to Jamaica...it will be exactly 5mos since I last saw my hubby when i go back down in Aug...can't wait...a must needed release of stress is in order... ...

I got an email message back from the embassy about them doing something to accommodate us CR1 visa holders having to wait 4-5mos for an interview date...well they didn't really answer my question or told me anything i want to hear...this is an excerpt of what i wrote...

I would like to know why Immigrant visas, especially marriage visas

(CR-1/IR-1) are given less priority than non-immigrant visas, for

example K-1 visas.

Since non-immigrant visa do not have to be processed through NVC, the

non-immigrant visas are getting interview dates right away, once

documents are received at the embassy, while Immigrant visa holders

have to wait 4-5 months after all documents are received and reviewed

at NVC for an interview date. This leaves me to believe that the

non-immigrant visa are filling up most slots for interviews which is

leaving the immigrant visas less slots for interviews, which is

causing this 4-5 month wait for an interview date.

I know the embassy is doing their best to take care of all visas types

and I commend the embassy for their hard work and dedication. I would

just like to know is there anything possible that can be done to help

those pursuing Cr-1/Ir-1 visa to not have to wait 4-5 months for an

interview so we can finally be with our loved ones.

This is what they wrote back...

Good day:

Thank you for your e-mail. The information contained in your e-mail is however not accurate. While it is true that K1 fiance visas do not go through the processing at the National Visa Center, they do go through processing here at the Embassy in Kingston before they are scheduled for a visa interview. The process normally takes a few months so it is only on very rare occasions that K1 visas are given a higher priority than

IR1/CR1 visas. The Embassy

Visa Unit

I guess they can't do anything about this wait since CR-1 visas have to go through NVC...Oh well...I tried... :bonk:
