Let me clear things up...so that i dont confuse anyone.

We got about 5 RFE's for things that they were all mixed up on...putting us through HELL....so we requested an expedite and it was approved.

We called and they told us that our expedite was approved and was sent to the embassy yesterday.

Man this process sucks!! I dont get it at all. What constitutes a good expedite or not? I dont know what Forever's case is gonna go. I mean...what visa will he get now that its expedited? Were all your papers turned in/ Will you get a k3 visa, or will he get a packet 4 asking for DS230 or will they just give him a date to show up to embassy. Thats a bit confusing when they expedite you before all your paperwork is in order. Cause they will inevitably need the paperwork.

Marlita, an expedite just means that they work on your papers faster - so they put you at the front of the stack instead of having to wait your turn. It doesn't change which visa you applied for.

I think he will still go through the CR1 route cause he said that they sent in all the paperworks to NVC but all the RFEs were errors on NVC part...similar to what i went through...but they sent his paperworks straight to the embassy since i guess they couldn't rectify the problems...I read back on Forever posts and saw that they filed an expedite on financial hardship....I would like to know forever how you got that to go through if you don't mind sharing....you could PM me if you'd like....not that i'm going to use it since i should be close to finishing but i'm just curious......

I agree with Kimmy. I think it's a year.

I just did some other paperwork that originates here and that required a US police record and it said doen within the last 6 months, though.

Ok, good,Thanks Again- I'll tell him to start looking about it! Do anyone know how much they charge for it? I would never tell him he could have it expediated because that would mean the week before the interview he would be doing it. I need as much cross off the checklist as possible, less stress!

This is the website with the info for the police record:

http://www.mns.org.jm/ApplyingforPoliceRec...79/Default.aspx

Its $2,000JA for 3 day service and $1,000JA for 21 day service (working days)...i would definitely do the 3 day service because i did the 21 and it was much longer than 21 days....hubby had to pay again for the 3 day one instead anyway....

Our expedite was done through our Congressman's office. They helped us with our expedite at USCIS... so they did everything for us at NVC. Our case was 99.9% completed at NVC when the expedite was approved.

Wow, you have a really good congressman. My stupid congresswomans office kept telling me it takes YEARS for visas to come thru and that they only have so many per year. I kept telling them NO i am a USC and they didnt get it. I swear I hate incompetent people.

She is confused. She is thinking you are the family based visa that does take years.....for other relatives besides your husband. In those cases, they do only have so many per year and it could take 2, 3, 4 years to have an open visa number available for you.

It scares me that people that have input into our laws and systems, haven't a clue.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
