Hi Forbes and Marlita,

Did the Kingston Embassy contact your husband notifying him of a change of his interview date? Today, my Hubby received a call from them stating his date has been rescheduled for Oct 24th @ 7:30a instead of Oct 21st. They also asked him if he received his packet, he said no, so they said it should be mailed out by next week.

Just would like to share, I know you're both planning on going JA. You might want to call and see if your husband’s interview dates are the same.

OH wow! This is crazy! No we havent received any info yet. I'm glad you said this, cause I was about to buy my ticket. I guess I'll wait til next week to finalize that. So your date is on a friday now? Thats a wierd day. There must be some interesting changes going on at the embassy.

The NVC doesnt really schedule, they just do what the Embassy tells them. So the NVC gives out a date once the Embassy says they can. Thats why the NVC never knows anything about the interviews when you call them. Most likely our cases are already at the embassy. My husband got a call from the embassy during this process, but I cant remember what it was about.

I'm thinking the embassy must've opened up an additional day in the week for family visas. So now they are moving things around a bit. I have no idea what number they have on my husbands, cuase he lost 1 of his phones last week and I think its the phone with the number that the embassy has. I hope they send an email with the change or some sort of notice soon. I still have not bought my ticket and its almost 3 weeks till I need to be there.

I think I'll do that. Cause he doesnt know what address or phone number they have on him. and he needs at least 2 weeks before interview for his medical, so now we are in crunch time.

Yes, I'm going to do this as well and call NVC to see if they know anything about this. Will I also get a new appointment letter? The embassy said that he should get a packet with the new date sometime this week. Hopefully I will get a response from the embassy with the new date so I can send it to him so he has it as back up if he doesn’t get his packet.

I am so far behind.

No plane ticket.

No place to stay.

No packet 4 in Jamaica.

No medical done yet.

And I have 19 days left!!!

I would do the same thing. I confirmed out interview by e-mail a few days before. I sent an email the week I was leaving for Jamaica and the respond on the day I actually flew out. They've done this in the past. Same thing happened to Marcel's friend, but he was unable to reschduled because his fiance was already in Jamaica, so they told him to come in.

Wait, you don't have packet 4 yet? When are you suppose to leave?

You can't send him the one you have???...i would either email it to him to print out or mail it to him...it should be the same exact thing you got that he will get from the embassy because they do say that all packets are mailed to the agent and beneficiary....and even though he doesn't have the packet 4 yet have him schedule an appointment at least so he has a date cause you don't want the hospital to be already booked and they can't schedule him until after your interview or when its too close to the interview that you won't get your results in time...and with the plane tickets you might have to cough up all that money if you really want to be there because i don't think there will be anything cheaper at this point...sometimes if you call AJ and speak to a customer service rep that might give you a deal...I heard this happen where you can talk them down to a price...you never know...tell them your situation and they might help you...good luck...

Ok guys,

I had to take a breath for a minute there and think.....

• Last night I coughed up the money and got that ticket on AJ. Sucks!! Cause it was more than I wanted to pay, but I am a snob when it comes to flying into JA, and I cannot be layed over for more than 2 hours. Plus I'm going into Kingston, which is a harder flight to find with decent hours. My AJ flight just stops in Mobay for like 40 mins to refuel and head over to Kingston .
• Then I thought about it, and I can just file scan the stupid packet 4 that I got and email it to the Mister. i didnt want to have to air mail that ridiculous thing. I dont know why I didnt think off that before. With this ancient visa process, I forget how everything can be digital. So I am emailing it to him and having him print it and voila, he's got packet 4.

Your right Jgay, I should have him make the appointment now. JG, he cant really do anything without the packet 4, but I figured that out. He is getting the car and hotel, but only after I find the hotel. He's not to familiar with hotels in Kingston so he had no idea where to start on finding a place. I'm still figuring this out, cause this ####### is getting mighty expensive.

I cant believe I have like 2 weeks before I leave!! It snuck up on me and I started freaking out. But I think I got the Lita composure back.

Ok guys,

After all the stress, the Mister just called and said that he received packet 4 today. Great!! Now he said he is going to read it over, call and schedule the medical. So sounds like all is moving along ok.
