I just though of something based on what you said. Many make it out as if the poor hood rats are simply a victim of "institutional racism". They make it out as if these guys are a Chris Gardner trying to get through life with the odds stacked against them. Instead why not ask these guys what they have done, legally, to better their lives. Ask how wearing clothes 20 times your size is going to get you in the door of a company. How destroying their community, their government funded housing, is helping them advance.

You're more than welcome to head to your local "ghetto" to question the locals all you want.

Because for one reason or another "people like that" don't aspire to corporate jobs.

Here in NYC, there are however, plenty of working professionals of pretty much any ethnicity you can think of who work professional corporate jobs, and who are well turned out in their professional attire.

These gangsta types are basically the Chavs of the community here. So they are not going to get any sympathy from me. They need to be forcefully told that we the people control the streets and not you guys. If it means sending SWAT teams to patrol the streets then so be it. Where was Jesse Jackson and co when the 37 people where shot in Chicago. There are more people shot in one city alone, over 2 days, than when comparing the monthly stats of the entire country of Canada, Australia and the UK combined.

Jesse Jackson actually supported this latest round of community policing as per an emergency crime summit called by the mayor of the city in question.
