Hello everyone,

We received our approval from the service center the 26th of April. After reading and trying to figure this out, it looks like a packet will come to me within 5 or 6 days. Is that correct.

And in the packet is a checklist that shows want we have to bring to the embassy¿ I have been reading of a packet that says do not open¿ where does that come in¿ Anything else I need to watch for that I might miss.

I am in Colombia now visiting Maria Teresa for her birthday and was hoping to go to the embassy on this trip as I willl be here 11 days, but it does not look like that will happen.

Thank you for all your help

Charlie

You are now on step # 5 of the K-1 Flowchart.

The "do not open" envelopes are:

1. Medical exam results (Step #11)

2. The brown envelope your fiance will received after the interview is completed, and that your fiance has to give to the CBP officer at the POE when entering the U.S.

I'm sorry, don't really know the answer to your question, but you are not at step 5 - the approved I-129F is now forwarded to the National Visa Center ("NVC") which will then pass it to the consulate, which will inform you of next steps.

What I don't know is (a) how you know when your file is received by NVC, or (B) how you know when it's then sent to the consulate. Hopefully someone else will tell you!

You the beneficiary will get a letter form the US consulate with the case # (part of packet3) - and the petitioner gets a copy of it also. Good Luck
