Hey all,

How many W2 forms should you include for each tax year if you chose to send those? All of them obviously say the same thing. Should we include copies of them ALL or just the 1 relevant to the FEDERAL tax return?

Hey girl;

If you send the tax transcripts, you do not need to send the W2's. If you send the copy of the tax return itself, you have to send the related W-2's with them (however many there are). I think the tax transcripts are better. They are more concise and are considered official, since the return was already review by the IRS for accuracy. :thumbs:

Thanks for the reply! We wanted to get the transcripts, but hubby is deployed to iraq so he can't do it, and when I try to order them through the automated system it doesn't let me (I suppose because I am calling from outside of the US). Also tried talking to an operator and they wouldn't give me the info since my hubby's taxes were filed as "single" and I am not him!

Needless to say we have given up on that route and are just going to send in the 2007 tax return and the transcript (he doesn't have the other ones with him since he's deployed).

So, yeah....we know the transcripts are better but that's just not an option for us right now. :no:

He has 4 W2's for 2007...I guess I will just send all of them in with the return.

Thanks again! :thumbs:
