k1 packet 3, checklist

Hi All

I did not get the packet 3 which was sent from the consulate on 11th March. When I called them today, was told they just need :

1. DS 230 Part I

2. Applicant Statement/Packet 3 Checklist pdf

I still have to get some papers mentioned in the checklist. What I understand is that I should first get those papers with me before I send

it to the consulate. What I was contemplating is that rather than wasting time, should I send those two papers and arrange later on

for all those requirements cited in the checklist ?

Do they compare the date on the checklist with the documents which I provide in packet 4 ?

But then that is what the checklist is for ? To be prepared before you send it ?

One thing more, how long does it take for them to send the packet 4 when they get my packet 3 ?

If you are sure that you will get the documents soon then you can go ahead and send back the forms - many people do so - and if a document is not received by the interview time - they are often told to bring back the document pending which the visa is not approved (or denied). Good Luck
