The OP corrected her post after realizing she exposed her co-worker as working illegaly, in a public immigration forum, which no one knows if whether the US Gov't. monitors or doesn't.

Please don't post your theories as fact.

I was trying to avoid the probing and judgemental responses I felt this would get by asking the pertinent questions and hoping I would recieve advice and not the criticism this has generated. I said co-worker - she is not working with me, she is not working at all right now. She is the friend OF a co-worker. She does not understand what is happening with her case. Her husband has changed since her arrival and she is wondering what the truth of the situation is. I'm sorry this turned into a thread of critisicm and "why doesn't she just go home..." (Btw - her husband won't buy her a ticket to go home, and since she "can't" or he won't allow her to work it's a tough situation)

"This is not for me but for a co-worker. She will greatly appreciate any help anyone can give on this issue. She came here in January on a K3 visa and is at odds with her husband"[/b]

But you said the above statement, that this was for a co-worker, you did not say for my co-workers friend, therefore you are contridicting yourself... I just have a suggestion for you, i am not trying to judge you but it is wise to think about what to say before you say it or write it.

Goodluck on your journey and i hope that your "co-workers friend" will get the help and legal advise she needs.
