Paying Visa Fee at the embassy?

Ok, I did some searching, and either do not understand the answer or can't find it. I read reports of interview process, that the fiance(e) has to pay for the visa fee at a "window" before the interview (or after). But the amount isn't mentioned. Can someone tell me what it typically is?

The way it sounds: taking out a few bills to pay; but I read somewhere else it costs $400?? That's on top of the $455 I-129F fee at initial filing?? I know it takes money and time, but would be "worth it" in the end, but still a shocker if that is the case...

Thanks for your answers/guidance.

Remember that some fees vary from consulate to consulate, so the best advice is to call YOUR consulate. As you can see above, most of those prices are written in pounds, so that will not apply in Russia. We had to pay for the visa and medical...no courier fee and the I-129F is already paid for (lucky for us it was under $200).

 I agree. The fee for non-immigrant visas is $131.00.

OP, when you get to the interview stage, the Consulate will send a packet to the foreign fiance with the instructions on how to make the paymet, in some countries it is possible to pay at the embassy and in some others you have to pay at a bank and bring the receipt for the interview. As Damian&Kelly said, every country is different.

Thanks for your answers/guidance.

You will have to pay USD 131 visa application fee (non-refundable) either prior to the interview at a designated bank or on the day of the interview at the embassy. The best is check with your embassy and find out about the payment. For my country, we have to pay at the embassy and can either pay cash in USD or Malaysian Ringgit or with credit card.

As for the medical and delivery fees, they both vary depending on the country you're at. Some countries allow visa pick-up and there you don't pay for delivery fees. Once your Packet 4 arrives, you can make a call to the appointed panel doctors and ask for the estimated medical fees involved and the payment method. You know, just to prepare yourself...

Cheers and best of luck! :star:
