I have applied for the K1 visa and recently submitted the DS230 document to the US Embassy in delhi (22nd April to be precise). I am curious to know when would I receive th information kit that would have the interview date details and the relevant information regarding the parperwork, the medical checkup and the fees to be paid. by when should I be expecting(timelines) the 4th packet which contains more or less this information?

It depends upon your embassy when you would receive the packet 4 (interview packet).

I am confused, are you JUST starting your visa process now? Have you turned in your I-129f. I assume so since you said you turned in your DS-230.

Okay to give you an example, we turned in our packet 3 (all the info that we turn into the embassy after they have received our petition from NVC) and we turned that in and the embassy received it on april 2nd. We are still waiting for them to make the damn interview date for us.

It depends on the country as to how long you will wait. You need to make a timeline, and you also need to check out other peoples timelines who filed for dehli and see how long it's taking them.

Mine was pretty quick. Depending on where you live (you didn't post out your info... its all N/A), the fastest could be 1 month like me.

1 month from the date I sent in my Packet-3 with the DS230s etc, I got my interview letter in the mail...

K1-Visa in Montreal, Canada.

4/07 - Filed the I-129 F [Petition for Alien Fiancé(e)] Along with Bio forms [G-325a for both of us]

6/07 - Forms got resent back to my Fiance because I forgot to sign some papers. [silly me]

11/28/07 - Got my K1-Packet 3!!! It was a headache to fill in the papers.

2/15/08 - Sent all documents and forms through express! I was close to the expiration date

3/27/08 - Interview letter!!! I was in the US with my Fiance so I couldn't come back in time, rescheduled appointment.

4/24/08 - Got my interview done :) Approved! Passport+visa+brown envelope will be sent within a week.

5/1/08 - Got my Visa!

~ Flying to US on 6/11/08.

~June 19 2008- Married!!!

7/25/08 - Sent in AOS: I-485 along with EAD, AP.

8/7/08 - EAD, AP, AOS touched.

8/19/08 - Got an RFE for I-485... Fixing it.

8/22/08 - Biometrics taken in Portland.

10/08 - Another Bio (for work authorization card).

-- received my work authorization card and advance parole papers in meantime--

1/15/09 - AOS INTERVIEW *faints* in Seattle, Washington.

2/2/09 - Green Card!

It depends on how busy the Embassy is. It takes between weeks to months. Mine took 3 weeks, sooner than I expected until I had to postpone it

Cheers! :star:
