If co-sponsor is married, must both sign affidavit of support?

My co-sponsor is married, but his wife is fully dependent on him. They file a joint tax return, yet his is the only income. My question is - do they both have to sign the Affidavit of Support, or only my co-sponsor?

This is a question I am looking at too. On the instruction from the Embassy (London) it states that the affadavit of support should be signed jointly by both husband and wife (for the co-sponsor obviously - my fiancee is not already married!). I can't see this mentioned anywhere else though, and the form does not look designed for two people? What are other people's experiences and views?

Also, I was hoping that people could reassure me that the following would be acceptable evidence for the affadavit of support:

1 years federal tax returns

Letter from employer

Letter from bank

Do I need pay stubs as well, or will the above be sufficient?

I just filed an I134 for my nephew - its the same form that I used for my fiancee (now wife). Even though we are now married, I did not have my wife sign the form - as you pointed out, there is nothing on the form that says both must sign (if married). My tax returns and bank statements have both our names on it - so it is obvious that we are married but only one person signed the affidavit. His interview is next week so I will know what happens (in Bombay, India) shortly. Perhaps someone else who used a co-sponsor would let you know what they did and how it worked. Good Luck

I received the same instructions in my packet 3. I assume that when you go to have it notarized you can have both the wife and the husband sign on and above the line in front of Notary Public.

My nephew just called and they approved his visa - so my I134 with just my signature (my wife didn't sign it) was OK. This was in Bombay, India for a Student Visa - but its the same I134 form that I had used for my fiance's K-1 visa (now wife). Good Luck
