im still waiting for my noa2.....but me and my son just walked into the rcmp building where i live...told them the situation, they said ok..and we had our certificates within 20 mins...25.00 each.. :dance:

  • I just went on Monday, here in Montreal.
    (I'm at NOA2, waiting for Packet 3.)
    I had to wait an hour for my number to be called, but after that it only took fifteen minutes and $25.
    That is assuming you have a clean record and your "Name Check" comes back without a hit.
    If you have a record, you will need finger-printing and can expect to wait several months.

January 19 2006 I-129F sent to TSC (Day 1)

- (Subsequently transferred to CSC)

January 27 2006-NOA1 (Day 9)

January to April - Tried to keep her patient and calm as we waited!

April 17 2006 - NOA2 (Day 89)

... 91 days ...

July 17 2006 - NVC ~ After 91 days, FINALLY received by NVC! (Day 180)

July 21 to August 8 2006 - Flew down to visit Amber in Florida (ZERO problems at border)

Jul 25 2006 - Packet 3 received

August - ABANDONED PROCESS

Same as the previous members who posted... I just walked into the RCMP building (in my case, Montreal). I waited for almost an hour for my number to be called. But the name check took only 5 minutes (and $25.00 cash). I had to show two pieces of ID (one with an address).

Ritchie, what visa are you applying for? What's your timeline like?

09/21/2005 NOA 1

02/07/2006 NOA 2 (Day 143)

02/25/2006 Petitioner receives AOS Bill in U.S. (Day 161)

02/27/2006 AOS Bill (regular USPS) and DS-3032 (Canada Post regular) are mailed out

03/21/2006 Petitioner receives I-864 package (Day 185)

03/22/2006 Beneficiary receives IV Bill and sends payment - regular mail (Day 186)

03/24/2006 Petitioner sends back I-864 (Day 188)

04/13/2006 Beneficiary receives DS-230 (Day 208)

05/10/2006 Beneficiary sends back DS-230 and docs to NVC via Fedex (Day 235)

05/19/2006 NVC issues RFE on Question # 20 on the DS-230. (Day 244)

05/29/2006 Beneficiary receives RFE and sends it off (Day 254)

06/02/2006 NVC receives RFE (Day 258)

06/16/2006 Case Complete! (Day 272)

07/07/2006 Case forwarded to Consulate in Montreal (Day 293)

08/11/2006 INTERVIEW! VISA APPROVED!

08/14/2006 Picked up visa and crossed the border.

08/25/2006 SS card arrives in the mail

09/07/2006 GC arrives in the mail.

04/24/2006 NVC forwards the application to the consulate in Montreal

I am applying CR-1. Here is my timeline

- I 130 sent 11/18/05

- 1-130 received 12/01/05 at Calif. Center

- 1- 130 APPROVED 03/23/06

- National Visa Center received my case & assigned me a new case number 04/05/06

- NVC sent DS 3032 and VBill 04/17/06

- received DS 3230 and VBill 04/24/06

- sent back DS 3230 to NVC 04/26/06

- sent back VBill to NVC 05/01/06

- NVC received 05/02/06
