Hello everyone! I have a problem. My father filed I130 for my brothers (both over 21) and their kids in May 2005. He received a notice April 20,06. the letter said its receipt date is may 5,2005 priority date may 2, 2005. It said that the petition had been approved and sent to nvc. The problem is that it is now April 25 and we have not heard anything from immigration. what do you think we should do. we have tried to call but you know what dat is like. I sent out an email one time and they said that there no visa avail for the country.. however i know of numerous people who filed years after us that are now in the US coming from the same country which is liberia, west africa. Pls help... My father is about to give up.

thanks

Children over 21 (of USC or PRs) are in family preference category for immigration which means they have to wait until an immigrant visa is available for them (there is a limited number of visas issued per year). That's why you got response "no visa available for country". At the moment, visas are available for those on whose behalf petitions were filed on or before March 2002. So, your brothers will have to wait a few more years...

Before it is their turn to get visas, your father will receive correspondence from NVC (around 2010/2011).

For some immigrants there is no waiting. For example, if your brothers were under 21...
