My FIL has always had a gun in the home (in India) for protection, my wife asks me from time to time why we don't.... I never know what to say. Umm because I'm a skeerdy cat?

actually, yes. it can provide one with different techniques to practice, assist in firearm selection, and most importantly, tactics inside the home when there is an intruder. i've got a few on that latter topic that are most educational.
