I thought that K-1s weren't eligible for expedites at all.

As far as I know there have been military expedites when the USC is being deployed overseas.

There are no others I am aware of.

Aren't some expedited for very very serious medical situations???

True. I have seen some I-130s get approved, but not K1s.

take a look at this couple's profile.

Vinera & Gerald approoved on 2008-04-22

Yeah, these people were expedited because USCIS made an error back in September.

That's one of the very few exceptions mentioned above and it's good to see because others here have had USCIS errors that were not expedited.

We all want/need our SO here early for one reason or another. But unless it's a military deployment expedite or very serious health issue for the USC it's unlikely to happen.

All the information you could want is all in the search box. ;)

These folks were expedited and they are K1. Happy to see there is some justice!

Sad situation but hopefully it turns around for them...

I knew about the USCIS error one and thought it was a super-duper exception. I'm so glad that the couple with the medical problem got an expedite!

I don't see where you have waited overly long, thus far.

Good luck to you. I hope it all works out.

serdar-was there a specific condition or military reason that you requested an expedite? I don't mean to be nosy and you don't have to give details...but if we can all call up USCIS and say we've been waiting to long and they'll kindly tell us we shouldn't have had to wait this long...well...I think there would be a lot of very happy VJers.

See my timeline for my K-1 and AOS/EAD/AP details.

Since August 07 I have seen 4 expedites granted, 3 for medical reasons and 1 for error. I have also seen two ppl that had errors delaying their petition and they were denied.

My attorney is going to request an expedite next week but its not a guarantee even with substantial proof.

serdar, i'm glad you're excited and do hope it works for you but unless your case is an extreme exception, the lady you talked to may just be blowing smoke. Call again and you may get a totally different answer.

Lancer, if your attorney can't do anything I would suggest getting your representative involved and don't take no for an answer. It was clearly their mistake and they should take responsibility for it! Keep us posted I would love to hear that you are approved next week!

See all the touches on my case? I think every two touches equals a congressional inquiry (roughly). If the expedite goes through ok I expect to have my case cleared within 4 weeks probably (two weeks for the expedite process, two weeks for processing.
