Where in India?

Goa, for 10 days, leaving on December 26th.

Nice. I was there with my family when I was in the 11th grade. I liked it.

My inlaws go every year at that time of year and they will be renting a big guesthouse and they've graciously invited us and my husband's sister's family to stay in it...so we won't have to pay for accomodations. We'll be staying in a less "touristy" area too...so that will be cool. OHMIGOD! I'M GOING TO INDIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance:

stina, what do you sell?

I don't sell anymore, but Sujeet and I tried having an ebay store selling Indian earrings, some jooti shoes, and Indian purses...almost all the shoes and all the purses sold but the earrings didn't sell well(I guess because you can just go to walmart/target, etc for ethnic earrings these days-it's really in style), so we eventually closed the store. However, after that I was still able to sell some earrings. ;) But now I have about 35 pairs of earrings sitting on my dresser. Some of them are blah earrings, some are really cute. All of my friends here had bought a bunch from us since they were low priced. But now they are just sitting there.

I'm just a happy camper!!!

  • I had a jewelry showing last Friday and I made over $700, with another few hundred in custom orders AND, I may have scored a wedding party, making necklaces and earrings for 5 bridesmaids and a bride!!!
  • I'm excited about getting my jewelry business off the ground.
  • We got our tax return today and woooot!, we are using it to purchase two round-trip tickets to India later in the year!!! So excited about that!
  • I get my company bonus today and I'm using part of it to buy a digital camera for taking pictures of my jewelry so I can sell it on my website....and of course use the camera for our trip
  • We may be getting another kitty companion....ooooooooh, such a cutie!
  • A boring meeting at work was just cancelled...YAY!
  • The weather is sunny but not hot...
  • I bought a cheap pair of really cute pink flip flops which make my feet cute....that's a REAL "feat" (arrf!), cuz I don't think my feet are cute and a bright pink and orange head band...it RAWKS! It's the little things sometimes that can make me smile.
  • I have some lovely tuplips on my desk, which everyone keeps stopping by to smell and admire...hehehe (F)
  • My hair looks good today
  • Hubster and I went on a nice date last weekend....but boy, glad I'm not dating anymore, cuz it's not cheap to go to dinner and a movie...hehehe.
  • I had a lovely cheese sandwich.....................for breakfast....hahahaha!
  • Hubster's been here over 10 months...WOW!
  • JUST HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lots of exclamations in this thread...but you all will get over it...hehehe! Soz, I just needed a moment for me own thread... :D:D:D

I hope so but not sure, it may be longer now...if I want to have a baby first. And we can't afford for both of us to go before next winter. I don't know, it's all complicated! :wacko: I have to choose when I want to have a baby, and how it will affect me being able to travel. I don't want to travel so far while pregnant. So it'd have to be after the baby was born and a few months old or older. It's hard because I want to start having kids soon, but also want to visit India soon. Who knows what'll happen!

Frances, so good to hear that things are going so well for you and you have had a fantastic week. Great news about the jewellry and you most definitely must put a link to your site, I love jewellry, chunky bracelets and necklaces, don't do the earrings though. Can't you put a few pics on just to give us all a taste :thumbs:

As for Goa, I believe it is beautiful and I am sure you will have a wonderful time :thumbs:

Going to India is a very different experience if you have to see family. Not much fun at all for me. I don't look forward to it :(

I told my wife, we should go to India, hit Goa and Maldives (not India but might as well be) on the way back and not tell our family.. she's like no way am I going to India and not seeing my mom... I understand but that really takes away my desire to go there :P
