But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I didn't go to my ten-year reunion because I didn't feel comfortable to travel (it was two months after 9/11), but I would have loved to go just to see what happened to the people in my class and how many of them already had hoards of kids.

I will, however, go to a huge alumni meet-up at my school in a few weeks. Hoping to meet some of my classmates there. It could be weird because I'm still not done or hold a job. But I guess I don't care anymore...

My graduating class was 571 and I've kept in touch with 4 of them ... and two of those are only because they're siblings of other friends of mine! My best friend is a year younger than me but her sister was in my class (nice woman, it's always nice to see her, but we're not close), and my best-friend-back-in-high-school-but-not-so-close-now has a twin sister I wish I could avoid but of course can't seem to. I've kept in touch with a lot of my friends from high school, actually, but most of them were a year older, a year younger, or went to different schools.

Mine is coming up in September, I'm sort of looking forward to it and sort of not ... I'm pretty happy with my life, and there are people I wouldn't mind seeing again, but I was happy to have moved on from high school, y'know? Plus I just hate the way I look. What are the odds I could drop 50 pounds in 4½ months, do you think?

And G. won't be able to go with me anyway, my M-I-L is visiting starting that weekend (they had to change the date of the reunion, it was supposed to be 9/16 and now it's going to be 9/30). For two weeks. (Which in and of itself is an argument in favor of going to the reunion, I guess: to miss at least a few days of a visit I'm sure will be entirely too long.)

And they're having it in Atlantic City, which is all well and cool, except that it's two hours from my hometown! So I'm sure I'll have to get a hotel. And it's not exactly cheap to fly from Albuquerque to New Jersey to start with.

My 10 year reunion was last year, I didnt go, I see some people I went to school with but only keep in touch with like 3, ours decided they were gonna do a very formal sit down dinner at $100 a person. I never cared to pay $2.00 to eat lunch with these people, there was no way I was gonna pay $100 for dinner. And we had plenty of those chop thingys you all are always mentioning...LMAO

Well, LMR, I'm in the same boat as you...my 10 year was in 2000, but I never heard a thing about it...and my brother lived in the house I grew up in at that time(my parents sold it to them) So...really, no excuses...my bro would have given it to me obviously, or at least emailed. Ah well...who needs em anyway?? Would have been fun to catch up tho.. M.

Tell me you're joking. You missed your reuinion for fear of travel? That was probably the safest time to travel there ever was and quite possibly the safest there ever will be.

No, it wasn't fear at all. It was just a major pain in the a$$ to fly at that time, especially when you had an international passport. As to it being very safe, I don't know since most of the people selected into the special inspection lines I have ever been in were people who were there by virtue of their nationality rather than because they posed a threat to airplane security.

Well it was last night. Here's the update. We pull up - it's at this one guys house...and the house is MASSIVE and gorgeous and on the river...and I'm like, "How does THAT guy have THIS house!!" He wasn't ever relaly that smart - so already i'm baffled. I get there and sign in and get the name tag. Immediatly we find my best friend, who if she hadn't been there, I would have been sunk. Her husband and Stewart immediatly start commiserating together!

LAter found out that house....was his dad's :)

It was the same cliques really. I mean everyone was cordial, but some were still fake as ever. The ones I liked in HS, I still like...the ones I didn't like then...I still don't :) No surprise.

The atmosphere was awesome...on the river, a jimmy buffet type band and a low country broil (but it was WAY too spicy!). As I said I'm just glad that my best friend was there...she and I set eachother at ease! Then we left early and went to another friends house INSTEAD of going to the "post" party. At that point I had had enough of the same, "Oh what are you doing? This is waht I'm doing...this is my husband..he's from Australia...this is how we met" Same convos OVER and OVER.

All in all it was fun. I mean I had a good time. I am glad I went so that I won't ever wonder, "Hmm I wonder what my 10 year would have been lik..."

OH only about 4 people WERENT married...and most have kids!! haha OMG.

and yes..i did drink... A LOT! haha Taxied home. THanks for all the advice :)
