Assuming that you've selected a candidate to support in the general election Who is your preferred candidate for President, and why will you be voting for them in November?

I'm really interested to know what specific areas of policy (if any) govern the selection on one candidate over any of the others.

To head off the possibility of this turning into another mud-slinging match I suggest that people post their opinion in their own words and don’t reply to anyone else’s answers.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. The worst offender, rebuttal king, of them all is saying this..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Jenn and Dev have good points - we don't really know who's running in November, yet.

Well, we know McCain is.

Going on the information we have at the moment - there are currently 3 choices.

All I'm wondering is - based on their policy stances what makes Candidate A better than B or C.

Hey - it might not even be about policy issues. That's an answer too.

Its an honest question.

and one that is done in a private booth, for a reason. :bonk:

Why?

What is there to hide?

PS: We don't know all the candidates yet, do we?

Hypothetically of course.

Well, we don't know who's running so this attempt at starting a flame war is ridiculous (yet predictable).

Secret ballot, suggest you read up on it.

No. There's 2 NOMINEES for the Dem candidate, and one given Republican candidate. The only definite on the ballot is McCain.

There are Libertarians & Independents still out there.

Well... How is it an "attempt at starting a flame war"?

I don't see the difficulty in asking what's most important to you (or anyone) about the 3 current candidates to influence a voting decision in November.

Noone has to provide an opinion if they don't want to.

Freedom of choice and all that.
