Hello fellow vjers!

I'm just happy to share my medical experience 2 days ago.

For you to have an idea of my current situation...especially those pregnant beneficiary who will have their medical soon.

I'm now 7 months pregnant and was worried how it will be during my medical at SLEC.

So I wanted to share my experience.

Here it goes...

April 23, 1 pm

Me and my aunt went to SLEC for my first day of medical, the guard let my aunt come with me because I'm pregnant (I was happy about it as I thought she wouldn't be allowed to go with me).

1. I presented to the guard my appointment letter and passport, he gave me the forms and put a stamp on my wrist.

2. Fill out the forms - be sure to know your fiance's us address, telephone number, case number and poe. It took me like 10 minutes to fill out the form it's mostly my complete name, age, date, case number and passport number.

3. Go straight to the US counter - gave the forms to the front desk clerk and have it encoded, she will ask you to go to the photo room to have your picture taken. 10 minutes also for this one..

4. She told me to go to the 5th floor for payment. I paid P 7,671.30 (182.65 usd). this time it was fast..hahahaha money talks

5. The cashier told me to go to the 3rd floor for x-ray.

6. At the x-ray reception, because i'm pregnant they gave me different steps to follow..i should go to the 4th floor first for blood extraction.

7. I went to the 4th floor- gave them my forms..then had to fill out the HIV waiver form and give it back so that it will be attached to my other forms.

8. Went to the blood extraction room (same floor) hmn...waited like 15 minutes for the nurse who will take my blood sample but only took me 2 minutes to finished the whole blood extraction process. I thought it will be painful but it's ok..hahaha I actually took a deep breath while she's extracting the blood...but it was fast and easy. after that she told me to go to Physical Exam (5th floor).

9. At the 5th floor, gave my forms to the Vital Signs Area assigned nurse..she took my height and weight, went to this room for eye check, then took my blood pressure. As usual I'm still low blood due to my pregnancy. hmn..it took me about 15 minutes.

10. After that, i went to the us counter for my physical exam (prayed that i won't be assigned to this doctor at room 6) ..I heard my name being called and was assigned at room 6 (this is it!)..so i waited outside room 6, i'm number 2..while waiting i'm thinking what will it be like??? so here it goes, i came inside and then sit down infront of her desk, she said..put the number there (pointing at this special number holder ahhahah). Then she asked my complete name, age, first day of last menstrual period, and when i told her that was sept 21 she said what? i smiled and said, sept 21 and im pregnant..but i sounded like being friendly. indeed it didn't made her smile..she told me "I know, I Could see that!"..wow she's really not smiling and so strict..is this the "FAMOUS DOCTOR? number 6?" HAHAHAHA..but i just kept calm and told myself that this will be over. and so after all the questioning about my medical history she asked me to go at the back area and undress..hahahaha..well I quickly do it, as I don't care what ever she will see because i'm pregnant ( she will just see my sexy curves with baby's kicking inside it..hahahah)..then she went and checked my eye, teeth, measured my sexy belly (with baby inside). and then asked me to turn to my left side, bend my knee and hold my ### cheek. and then that was it..had to dress up and took my forms back to the US counter. hmn..maybe it took me like 20 minutes including waiting time...

11. After the PE, I was instructed to go to the xray, I asked the nurse assigned if I could waive this (although i already knew that it can't or I'll just have to wait till i give birth) She asked me to sign all the forms, then sign the consent or a waiver which states that they won't be liable if something will happen to the baby after the xray. That's a little unfair, but what can I do..I just have to do it or just wait till I give birth and then have my xray and interview. I'm thinking that I should just do it now, because I won't have enough time to do it later. At the xray room, i wore this lab gown, a shield wrapped around my belly area just below my chest, then another shield at the back..if you're pregnant they will have to put a shield around your belly and at the back..also don't forget to bring a hair clamp (shook shook ba..hahahah) if your hair is long. it took me about 15 minutes for everything..

12. The lady technician asked me to wait after my xray..i waited like an hour and my name hasn't been called??? so i asked the receptionist about my forms and what will i do next as I've been waiting for a long time already. hmn..she just told me to go to the immunization interview room at the 2nd floor.

so i wasted 1 hour for this..

13. At the immunization interview room, had to fall in line for my turn..The lady doctor was polite and nice..i think she's the nicest person at SLEC..she's older though (maybe that's the reason why). She told me i could't have any vaccines because it's contraindicated (pregnant). so I'll just be getting it in the US. after that she told me to go back at the 3rd floor (xray check out). hmn..it took me about 15 minutes also.

14. Went back to the 3rd floor. gave my forms, was given a receipt and appointment for tomorrow. At last i'm down around 3 pm.

So the first day, I spend 2 hours at SLEC...

My 2nd day was the worst waiting game day...took me about 4 hours to get my results..

We arrived there at 1:30pm, my aunt wasn't able to go inside..the guard won't let her in..i wonder why..they keep on changing their policies.

The lobby guard gave me a stamp on my wrist, then instructed me to go to the 2nd floor for immunization, i told him that i won't be getting any vaccines..but he insisted that i will still have to go under that process.

So i went upstairs, gave my receipt..and waited patiently...waited..waited...patiently......................

After 2 hours of waiting, I asked the assigned person about my results..and he said that it's still being processed so i just have to wait patiently.....

So I waited again.......................but my baby is kicking me already..he's hungry inside me, so i just have to go out and buy a bread just to have something while waiting for my name to be called. So i went back and waited again..

Around 4 pm, they call out those who are still waiting for their immunization..and was asked to forward their passports..So i gave mine although I won't get any vaccines (it's like a process that i have to go through). By 430, i finally get to see my xray envelope and forms and was asked to wait at the ground floor for releasing..at last!!!

But then! i waited for another hour to get my results..they asked me 2 more id pics (so better bring pics with u). Then was asked some questions that was asked of me during my physical exam..maybe he's just confirming everything what's written with my medical results.

Was done by 530 pm..WHEW! BUT  because i got my xray and vaccination sheet. it means i passed!

We went home happy but tired.

This was my experience yesterday and today! i hope my fellow pregnant beneficiaries get an idea on what to expect on their medical exam.

I'll be having my interview this may 12..

Good luck to all of us!

Congratulations. I guess the two things that were different during the medical from us who were non-pregnant were the belly shield during x-ray and the measurement of the belly :) Cute

Goodluck on the interview
