MP-5's are for room and/or building clearing. If they are set to full auto or burst setting, there will be collateral damage.

An AR-15 would be a better choice.

AR would be better, but penetration is an issue. You don't want a bullet going through a perp and hitting a bystander.

But if the perp is standing behind a bystander ready to detonate his explosive device,

you want the bullet to go through the bystander and into the perp.
