That's kinda what I meant, although I think I might have worded it badly. I just meant to advertise this kind of 'super security' is as likely to have negative results as positive. At least in my opinion.

I think it's stupid and a waste of our money.

If a terrorist walks into a subway station and sees machine-gun-toting cops, what's he

going to do? He'll just walk to the next station.

If the terrorist is a suicide bomber, why will he care?

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

ive seen this in stations before and also other places around the city...ive never actually seen them on the train or on the platform, but no matter where they are it makes me sick, so whatevs...just another way to make people think that we are being protected and that we are safe...do i think this makes any difference in the level of security that we actually have? nope.

PH - it sounds like being everywhere all the time is their intention....

six officers and a dog will constitute a team, patrolling all platforms and trains in 12-hour shifts.

there is no way that there will be a team of 6 on every single train and platform...no freakin way...thats absurd and not even possible...they wouldnt have even fit on my 4 train this morning ;)

MP-5's are for room and/or building clearing. If they are set to full auto or burst setting, there will be collateral damage.

An AR-15 would be a better choice.

I wonder how effective an MP5 would be in a crowded subway?

very.

Charles got a new job?

charles don't care much for automatic weapons personally. i prefer either semi-auto or a 3 round burst, unless of course it's a m-2 .50 cal

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

He will care if he gets shot before he can detonate his bomb and kill as many people as possible.

I saw them pretty often in London. The first time I kinda thought ####### and then every time after that I was like oh well. I think if it will make people feel safer then go ahead and do it.

I've never seen them in London - probably something they did after 7/7?

It doesn't make me feel safer one bit, because I understand how stupid it is.

It's like installing an alarm system protecting only one door or window, while leaving

all the other doors and windows wide open. Not much of a deterrent factor, is it?

I think it is something they started after 7/7 because when I first moved there in 2003 I never saw them.

Not everyone is as intelligent as you are and it will make those people feel safer!

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.
