We have a joint checking/savings account, and then another joint checking that we opened up because the bank gave us free $50 for doing so. Needless to say we don't use the latter and I want to close it.

We've talked about separate accounts but it almost seems pointless, unless it were savings at a credit union - which we may do.

I have a checking and a savings account in the US. I have the same in Germany.

I believe a joint account between us still exists in Germany.

My husband has a checking and a savings account in the US. He has a checking account in Germany. There are also random PayPal accounts floating around.

Chequing accounts are separate.

Savings account is only held by USC.

I still have 2 bank accounts in Canada: one chequing and one high interest savings (on which I pay taxes).

When the new bank branch opens at the bottom of the hill we will open a joint savings account there to satisfy the requirements for Removal of Conditions in approximately 1.75 years from now.

Neither of us see the need for a joint bank account.

I run out of $, he writes a cheque. I deposit it.

Repeat.

I do not work outside the house for a wage. I am really not sure what funds we would be "co-mingling" to meet the USCIS requirement. "Co" implies that both parties are contributing. I do not contribute financially to the partnership.

We actually have multiple joint accounts for both checking and savings and we have alias names. You can never be too careful with big brother watching.

2 joint chequing and 1 joint savings account. The 2nd chequing account is used to send his ex-wife her monthly support payment so it is kept separate from our other expenses. I still have a checking account back in Canada that is used intermittently for expenses in Canada.
