Worry about simple things like your non-working appliance, please, when probing the private life's of their employees is so much more fun. Leaking freon or spying, I chose invade that privacy, let the kids play with the leaking freon, makes em strong.

And cuts down on electricity. No need for lights.

Interesting management style.

They should have just said they were downsizing.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Maybe they should worry more about their products- we had to toss a 3 year old fridge because it was leaking freon. It would have cost too much to have it repaired.

And the dishwasher- I have had several repairmen out to look at it. Now I don't bother and just hand wash everything.

Let them smoke- if it makes them happier employees- they might take more care in their work and products.

Is it spying when they are on company property? I don't think they set up cig-cams in these people's homes. LOL

God forbid..... next we will be having to pay extra on our med insurance just because we eat more or are over weight.....

The real point though is that they knew what they were signing didn't they? I'm not saying it's right to charge people more, but if you sign something that is for all intents and purposes, a contract, then aren't you responsible if you break the contract?

So I sign a contract to say that I dont over eat and am not above the recommended BMI but then for whatever reason I start to gain weight and go above the BMI for my hight... does that mean I have broken my contract and should be charged more for my insurance...

Or

What about people who drink in excess... should we be made to sign a contract with our employers to say we dont drink to much and if we do they can charge us more for our insurance...

Or

We are asked to sign a contract to say that we will not take part in any sport that could cause us injury and if we do we will have to pay more for insurance....

they are all area's that could be classed as self-inflicted illness or injury... should our employers have the right to dictate what we can and can not do outside of work??

Yes they can dictate what we do while at work ie: No Smoking, No Drinking, No Eating but outside of work should they be able to hold us to a contract???

I agree with Sister Fracas. That it is a ####### contract with a lousy intent is a different matter entirely.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Professional athletes often have all of these conditions in their contracts.

Again...they were smoking on company premises, after THEY signed a contract....they just got caught in their lie...THAT is their fault. They should have known the risk.

You keep missing that I don't think it's a good policy and if I smoked I'd either think about trying to quit for my own good health and if I couldn't stop, you can be damn sure I'd only do it in private, not for the company to see.

Wonder how many of them started smoking after signing the contract ... you know ... the stress of work started the habit ...
