on the 221g the first choice is checked, only says adminstrative processing and that they will call him.

As long as returned was not mention i would just wait for the call then, times will vary for this

Administrative process is after interview. United Stated Department of State must check your name, your fingerprints with FBI, CIA and other government departments to make sure you are not a criminal or terrorist.

here is waiting times:

1 to 3 months (Lucky)

3 to 6 months (average)

6 to 12 months (unlucky)

When adminstrative processing is finished, you go back to Embassy to pick up visa.

Yes, after the checks are done, he will get the visa. We just cant help you with how long it takes because we dont know ourselves. its such a hard time to pass, but don't worry too much. vent all you want and also understand it will be done at some point in time and it could be sooner than you think.

yes 6 months is average, after that its fair game that it could be up to or more than a year. Pray to God and be proactive, call DOS and the embassy and you will feel better during the process.
