Nonsense, 6, how dare you confront reality with history?

The US has boycotted the Games before out of protest for far less.

Then China, in retaliation, stops shipment of goods to the US. Game over for the US..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Yes, and send the goods to the moon instead.

Which is why the government isn't boycotting the games.

I don't agree with people disrupting somebody else's life to force their views. Liberals tend to do this a lot. Where freedom is starting to mean you do what we say or else will will disrupt your lifestyle. For example, You either do what 'we' consider is green or we burn down your buildings.

Hmmm, sounds a like Bush and Iraq...

Do as they please? You mean do as the ruling party pleases? Good on them for...what? Continuing with one-party rule, famous violations of human rights across the board, no elections in sight?

It is their choice. When I see some hippie #### protesting, that just strengthens my opinion rather than convince me otherwise. Liberals don't seem to understand the concept of freedom of choice. Freedom of choice means that if I, for example, don't want to accept gay marriages I don't have to. Yet clearly freedom of choice for others means forcing their opinions down everybody else's throat.

China is not going to change because you want it to change. Simple as that.

Freedom of choice--where it exists, that is--also means that anyone can protest what they see as injustices, with the intention of calling attention to them. And you have the freedom to ignore those greasy hippies and give kudos to China for standing their ground.

Even less likely if people stop voicing their opinion and objections. That's just a form of apathy - on things like human rights apathy facilitated the worst abuses in recent history.

Certain groups, usually with left wing views, feel they have the right to disrupt somebody else's life to get their way. That is not what democracy is all about. San Fransisco, for example, is the city of gays / lesbians. Good for them. I will not live there. Freedom of choice. But how would they like it if everyone else, the millions, who disagrees with them went and basically tore down the city and disrupted their way of life.

Of course! All hippies are greasy. They need the grease to accelerate the fires they've set to all those houses and businesses.
