Applying for SSN

Hi,

I've just looked at the VJ guidelines, which say you should apply for the SSN well before the I-94 expires. I was not on the ball and my husband's visa will be expiring in about one week. Does this mean we have to wait until his GC comes to apply for SSN? Or can he go apply when the EAD comes through? Or can we apply whenever with evidence that we're in the AOS process?

thanks,

Rebecca

you have to wait until you got your GC or EAD on hand. Good luck!
