Oh, and Loolinette I got my I129F approval notice via email on the 16th May. Then, 4 days later I got my I130 approval notice through email - both now dated back on May 15th.

I guess you will be receiving your I130 approval soon.

Well, I just got the approval notice... I haven't heard anything other than that. On the approval notice (hard copy) it says that the case is being forwarded to NVC...

I tried calling NVC since it's been 2 weeks, but my case is not there yet....

I know. The part that usually takes longer is now behind us (approving I130 and I129F), it makes no sense for them to take so long to process our forms!

My husband also wanted to come for the interview but he won't make it ($$$ and TIME)... I am verrry sad!

I have almost everything done. I am going to have my documents renewed today. The background clearence (both state and nacional) and passport I need to go to the federal police, which is next week.

After that, I will hopefully have my NVC number and be able to schedule the exams (physicall, blood and X-Ray)

AND on Monday I will start taking the vaccines at a local Health Center here in São Paulo, Brazil.

Do I need to do anything else?

but seriously, CONGRATS!!!!! if the I-129f gets approved first, you will go the K3 route.. thats 3 of you already!!!

It is nice to see that CSC is putting a priority on the K3's, I could never understand why the priority was put on the K1's. But I was very surprised I did not reveive and RFE, I posted in another thread, I was worried that I might get an RFE about my translation of the Marriage Certificate. Now that I received the approval, I can laugh about what I did. I translated the Certificate myself, and my Spanish is in no way perfect, and I said that I was compitent to translate from Spanish to English. However, the Marriage Certificate that I translated stated that I was required to have a certified public translator for the ceremony because my Spanish was not very good. After I sent in the paperwork, I said to myself "Are you Stupid??????" I thought for sure they were going to give me an RFE on the translation. My problem with spanish is having conversations with anyone other than my wife. Because most spanish speakers talk so fast it is difficult for me to undrstand, but I can read Spanish very well because I can go at my own pace. I still can't beleive I did that!!!!

WOW! You are lucky! I have spent over BR$ 1.000,00 (around US$ 600,00) in translations! If I had only known....

Yes.... I spent that much... plus another US$ 400,00 to have my husband's original documents AND translations registered at the General Notary of São Paulo, Brazil - besides the US$ 600,00 of translations). Plus the US$ 200,00 notary fee for weddings. It's a complete joke!

Well, Steve, for me to get married all my husband's paperwork needed to be translated by a certified translator. That alone costed me US$ 500,00. I wasn't sure about not sending certified translations to USCIS so I hired the woman again and she translated my birth and marriage certificate (another US$ 100,00) and I sent them to USCIS.

Oh, and at the notary where we got married, we also had to hire a translator (since the hubby doesn't speak portuguese) who charged us US$ 100,00 to do the wedding. He was late (marriage was scheduled for 7 am and he showed up at 9 am - jerk!).

The most I spend on translations was because of my husband's documents BEFORE the wedding, I mean, to schedule the wedding at the notary.... grrr...

Brazil does nothing, but when it does.... it's hell!
