Renata,

I was reading that when you call the NVC and use the automated system to see if your petitions have arrived, only the I-130 will show as being at the NVC through the automated system. To get the details of the I-129 petition, you need to talk to a person.

But if you end up going with the I-130, it will take another 2-3 months to get to the interview.

Steve

Steve, I just spoke to a man at NVC. He has confirmed, my case is a CR1. I am scared because I don't know what to do. Actually I do know what I need to do and what my husband needs to do, but my husband doesn't. He's kind of stubborn and only listens to the attorney. I am pretty sure the attorney won't use the shortcuts they list here on Visa Journey. It's going to take forever now!!! Grrr....

Grrrrr

Pissed as hell. I knooooooooooooow CR1 is a much much muuuuch better visa, BUT the attorney is slow...

OMG Renatchi...did they tell u why it became a CR1??? im worried this is gonna happen to me too now :crying: I definetly want a K3...I dont know what to do anymore

Yes, Loolinette, believe me. I called NVC and asked, they said it was a "CR1 visa case, ma'am". It's much better to go on a CR1, but it's going to take time. I am going to talk to my attorney about this.

Grrrr....

I want a K3 too, it's faster, but I don't knooooooooooooooow!

I can't stop crying.... even worse, my husband won't come for the interview!

Did they say they wasn't processing K3s anymore or sthing ? :crying:

Noooooo... they didn't say anything about that.....

Now I can't seem to be able to talk to them anymore.... only ur I130 was approved or ur I129?

So when you gave them the case number of your I-129F, did they have any record of receiving it? I would ask to talk to a manager about this.

Exactly, they have no record of receiving my I129F.

Why would I talk to a manager about this?

I would not get real upset yet. They may just have not input it into the system yet. I would wait a few days and call them again to see if they have a record of receiving your I-129F petition. If all they receive is the I-130 petition, then of course they are going to say you are going for the CR1. Also, maybe you could call CSC to ask them and ensure they did mail your I-129F to the NVC and when. And see if it was mailed the same day.

If they receive both your petitions and still say that you are going for your CR1, then I would talk to a manager to make sure that they know that you are persuing the K3.

But for now, take a deep breath, relax, have some of that GREAT Brazilian coffee, and try to find out where your I-129F petition is, it may just be lagging a little behind.

Steve,

they said that they mailed my husband a bill. There are no bills (??) for K3. Only for CR1. I know it's a better visa, but I was thinking I was K3. Much much much faster! For instance, this girl who was approved same day as me (after also 20 days) got her interview date already, early July. I mean, she was approved on May 15th, also from Sao Paulo, Brazil, got her interview date. Mine is CR1? Now I know how these people who have not been approved yet feel.

They are crazy this USCIS guys... crazy!

Believe me, I have had 5 cups of coffee already, couldn't eat... haven't been eating and sleeping in 4 months.

The only good thing about it is that I lost some weight! lol

Also, your husband needs to be more up to speed on the process and what needs to be done. Because to speed things up, there are things that he needs to be doing right now, like getting together paycheck stubs, a letter from his employer, copies of tax returns, etc. You guys are in this together, it's not just you!!!

This is one of the reasons that I did not go with a lawyer, they have no urgency on your part. You are just another one of their clients.

But until you know more about where your I-129F petition is, I would relax and still plan that you are going the K3 route.

Steve, can you believe?! I just called NVC and my I129F was forwarded to Rio de Janeiro this morning. I even have my RDJ (Rio de Janeiro) number for my I129F!

Geeez.... I LOVE GOD! HE NEVER FORSAKES ME! HE'S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GREAT TO ME AND NOW I CANNOT STOP CRYING FOR THIS WONDERFUL GIFT!

I was about to punch my husband through the phone... now I am ok! lol

Renata,

I am very happy to hear that. But I also have to tell my wife the same thing, Don't get too excited about something and expect the worse until you have all of the facts. In fact I sometimes wait to tell my wife somethings until I do have all of the facts because I know that she will worry about things.

And now, you should make sure that your husband is doing everything that he needs to be doing to prepare for Packet 3.
