How to Make your husband Happy

I am a bit surprised that the focus is purely on whether or not it is ok to hit a woman. Clearly the rules as laid out were much more far reaching. Essentially the man acts as the 'parent' in the marriage, the wife is a rather 'simple' child who relies on the husband for everything and who isn't allowed to complain if she is not satisfied with how she is provided for.

I would rather hope that no one would knowingly enter into a marriage of that type in the 21st Century, and would further hope that these rules are not really an example of how muslims are expected to behave when married.

And I would hope that every woman and man have discussed in advance of marriage on how this marriage is to be carried out. After 1 divorce I found it beneficial to lay all the cards out on the table on what to expect.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

No the focus is well known and has been for few days, much has been said and i think most know the severity of the issues, its just gotten off line a little because we are all zapped with the hashing it over and over...im sure (most) havent fallen into this mind think but guessing there will always be some

Im not really into fashion.

Problem solved! Your husband must be a very happy man (or dog if that applies).

I'd hope so too, but I tend to think that's not the case from reading a lot of posts in this forum. The hitting issue aside, many of these types of "rules" are the norm I think, and those who don't follow them are considered less "traditional", or sinners, if you will.

Keeping him happy is barely a problem !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Less traditional would be fine, but 'sinners'? Does this mean that these rules are commonly accepted by muslims because it is a true reflection of what one should strive for in a muslim marriage? Or, have they become accepted because these countries are very patriarchal and it has been 'convenient' to interpret them in a way that allows for the men to retain power not only within the home but on the Political scene as well?

One would certainly hope that there is room for women to grow within moslem marriages and that the interpretations as laid out from the OP's first post are the result of expediency rather than that this is in fact the correct way to conduct oneself within a muslim marriage.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

quraan or sunnah never order muslims to hit wives as they as they are soft creation

islam is perfect but muslims are not

as muslim i see hitting just for animals to obey who dont has mind to think by. and it will never be a way to make anything better . the husband who hit his wife show his weakness by that action as if he was wise strong man he would never have to hit his wife to listen to him . the moment husband hit his wife he would loss her respect for him as a man

As far as I'm concerned, you hit the nail on the head right there. But I can't say I'm qualified to really speak on it.

This sheik's nonsense pisses me off. I'm thinking this guy probably also believes that 72 virgins will be waiting to cater to his stank azz after he leaves this world.

As grown married ppl I think we all have a pretty good idea about our respective spouses' likes and dislikes.

true but on here for now you realize your talking to a room full or women, the mens opinions seem to run little differently (in general) now it is accepted to hit your animal...i dont do that either....power is the key word

I agree, particularly in terms of what is culturally acceptable and what is - and is not - legally acceptable.

You know, making a husband happy really isn't that hard. Just show up naked with food!

What movie was it that the woman met her husband at the door wrapped in saran wrap? I just had a vision of me standing at the doorway, wrapped in saran wrap with a big plate of food. Scared myself!

how to make green fried tomatoes?

It requires several boxes of saran wrap.
