It's not a requirement, but it certainly does help for verification and preventing a possible delay.

To get one, go to your local NSO office, it's about 400 PHP. It takes about 2 weeks to get after the paperwork. You can also get one faster online for $20 US (about 800 PHP) and have it delivered (if you trust that! ) Go here: https://www.ecensus.com.ph/Secure/frmIndex.asp

I had my fiancee go ahead and get one since it's only about $10 U.S., but it did take a few hours of her time at the one in Quezon City.

You should have already gotten a CENOMAR before you were married. Some people get a CEMAR (Certificate of Marriage) although it is not required. If you want to get one just go the the NSO and fill out the same form for the CENOMAR.

If you're already married to him, then you can't get a CENOMAR because that's a Certificate of NO Marriage. Sorry, I overlooked that you're filing for a CR-1, no a K-1. Anyways, you're married to him so a CENOMAR will not apply to your situation.
