Hi to everybody!

My love and me are in the same boat than all the CSC march/april filers... waiting, waiting, waiting... Some days its easier than others, but we should be possitive and patient! Thats the clue for living these days witout our SO. I miss James so much as he misses me too, but we know that we re doing everything is possible for being finally together...

Then, I have a question: I dont understand what Robert M explained about the three numbers after the WAC08 in the Visa file number. What does it mean exactly? Is it possible to know something or at least "guess" something from that numbers maybe? Well if somebody could explain that to me with calm I would appreciate it so much :D

Thanks and good luck... and more patience!!! :)

Well, the slow CSC visa processing time had led to me once again flying across the ocean to calm my fiancée down. Going out there on the 13th of June while putting my job at risk. Thank you USCIS CSC! I'm out $1,500.00 more dollars along with an irrational woman saying horrible things because she is not next to me yet. So, I have to visit her to calm her down. Gah, she's lucky I adore her. Any other man would have smothered her with a pillow :D

i know where she is coming from. it's definitely not easy being on your own when you want to be with the person you love. and patience is a virtue but not something most of us want to bother with day to day. at least you will get to spend some time together and think of all the amazing things that will happen once you're together. hopefully that will help her spirits. i'm planning a trip back to chicago at some point over the summer, just trying to negotiate some time off right now so it's not just another 3-day weekend with 24 hours spent on a greyhound bus

I am fortunate that my boss and work are understanding of my situation. I am trying to visit Rosanna once every 6-8 weeks during this time. It is about a $800 hit every time I visit. At least it is not Europe or Asia, where the costs to travel are very high.

There was a couple of threads a while back that explained the breakdown of the case number. Just search through until you find one.

I send all of you positive thoughts. Honestly, I am hunkered down in the mentality that I won't hear anything more from USISC until September and our wedding won't be until February or March. If things happen before the, well Great! If not, then I have time to plan and save money.

that's where we're at as well - moving and getting married in february or march. in fact, i just gave my landlord rent cheques through until january. and yes, time to plan and save money can be a good thing! it's only 9 or 10 months away which is minimal compared to the lifetime we'll spend together :)

yep, add me to the traveling-overseas-and-spending-money-i-dont-have-while-we-wait-endlessly-for-CSC-to-move club. it's especially not a budget trip for me, as tickets to australia this summer are running upwards of $1700. oh well, what can you do...

i know this will all be worth it in the end, but sometimes the days are just so long and the excruciating process of checking the list to see where we are, only to find we're further back than we were yesterday (presumably because those who applied before us are entering their data late)...i've just been feeling so discouraged. it hasn't been that long for us, but since we'd already been living togetherfor 6 months, our lives have been disrupted so much by this.

but, i know this is the same old VJ song that everyone else is singing. glad we have this board...definitely makes me feel less alone.

Is it possible to know something or at least "guess" something from that numbers maybe? Well if somebody could explain that to me with calm I would appreciate it so much

LIN = Lincoln, Nebraska or NSC

EAC = St. Albans, Vermont or VSC (used to be Eastern Adjutication Center)

SRC= Dallas, Texas or TSC

WAC= Laguna Niguel, California or CSC (used to be Western Adjutication Center)

So using... EAC0800150001

The 08 represents the fiscal year (October 1, through September 30) in which the case was received.

The 001 represents the computer workday in the fiscal year on which the fee was taken.

The 50001 represents the particular case number.

For cases with particular case numbers starting with a 5 (like those of us filing for k1's), electronic case status information is available. For cases with particular case numbers starting with a 0, you must write to request the status of your case.

Gah, she's lucky I adore her. Any other man would have smothered her with a pillow

 yikes! good luck!

Feb/March seems a far way off considering even CSC is looking at 4 month approval times now! ;)

hug9.gif to you Sus... it does seem harder to me now that we've already spent so much time living together but it's been 8 months already that he's been 'home' and the time has flown. I hope it does for you guys too!

Ugh..travelling!!! Last flight cost me $2,600 r/t.. not to mention the 20+ hours in the air! I'm so envious of people who are closer but I will say that my man and the beautiful country of NZ are so worth it!!

Hiyas everyone! This is my first time to post here. I have been reading this forum since my bf filed a K1 petition for me. Everyday is a torture for me as I dun really know how long is it gonna take for the visa. I feel better recently as I'm very busy at my work til today. When I checked my file case even tho I'm the April filer and I didn't expect I would have any response anytime soon. And here we come, we got a RFE on 3rd of Jun and according to my bf said he still didn't get the hard copy by mail yet. So we really dunno whats going wrong with our application. So my questions are,

1) How long is it take for them to send us the letter by mail?

2) It said our application is pending right now, are we gonna restart our line from the beginning (NOA1) and wait for months?!

I'm very depressed right now :( and I just didn't know if this is gonna make us apart for longer than we expected. Anyone have an idea or experience of it? Thank you so much if anyone can tell me what is it like.

Sorry to hear you got an rfe. He should have the hardcopy anytime which will explain exactly what they're looking for. Hopefully, it's something very simple they are requesting and he can send it back right away. Note on the outside of the envelope that this is a response to an RFE and put your case number. You WILL NOT have to go back and start over. Try not to be too depressed... at least they're working on it!

It seems CSC is catching up and VSC is slowing down! Bad news for folks like us :( but good news for all of you! It's only fair really! I do hope you all star to get some happy news soon. :)

Well I honestly didn't expect that we're gonna have the RFE cuz I have checked up timeline most of them just got the acceptance around 4 months. I guess my bf didn't submit enough evidence to them so lets see what they need from us. I'm trying to convince myself that at least they have touched my file in such a short period of time. (Lucky?) It looks like I'm the first Apr filer (we sent our applcation at the end of Mar) in CSC got RFE in this forum. Our case isn't complicated I just hope they won't reject us.

It's EXTRA HARD to deal with visa + wedding at the same time. We've looked up few places and would like to hold a reception (without paperwork) in HK first then ceremony in US. But right now we can't book anything til we ensure our visa is ok....its just so stressful. I dunno how some of u guys can wait for like a year cuz right now i feel like I have been waiting forever already.

Btw even tho I'm from Hong Kong but I'm also a Canadian citizen. We're allowed to have dual citizenship. So my question is should I submit as a canadian citizen or just from HK? I'm trying to make it as simple as possible and in this case can I fly to US when our case is pending? My bf will come here again on Aug but I'm just worried if it takes too long so I can fly to him as well.

KimAndRuss it looks like u guys file have touched for few times I'm sure you can hear a good news from them soon.

Once again thank you to listen me and I'm so glad to find this forum so we can cheer each other up!

Updated: So my bf finally got the hard copy yesterday and basically they're asking us to re-submit everything cuz my bf didn't let me know that I need to fill out any form (G-325a) and he did it by himself so whenever he didn't know he just put "n/a" so I think 60% of that form probably were "n/a". No wonder we're the earliest pair to get a RFE haha.

So yea I'm pretty amazed how come they didn't inform us til now and it looks like we probably need to start all over again! I'm filling out all the form and will send to him asap. Btw my bf said in the paper it said photo, phone and passport records are not counted as the evidence for our on-going relationship within these 2 years. And he is not going to submit any of them, seriously I really don't want to have the second RFE anymore. I just don't see why they wont accept the phone record but chat log???!

Anyone have an idea and thank you so much for any help!

Glo, it sounds like your entire packet was returned? That seems to the be the case with missing forms.

Use the VJ Guides to put together the packet correctly so that this does not happen again.

Be advised, when filling out the G325 forms it will auto complete and print a set of 4 pages that look identical. Each of which you must sign and include with the petition.

What you need at this stage of the process, along with the correct forms, is proof of having met in the past two years. Passport stamps showing entry/exit along with copies of your boarding passes/itinerary showing u both in the same place at the same time....etc... will show proof of meeting in the last two years.

Emails and phone records and things of that nature are proof of on-going relationship more often asked for at the consulate/interview stage of the process afer you are approved at the uscis.

There is more info in the guides.

Btw my bf said in the paper it said photo, phone and passport records are not counted as the evidence for our on-going relationship within these 2 years. And he is not going to submit any of them, seriously I really don't want to have the second RFE anymore. I just don't see why they wont accept the phone record but chat log???!

You know this is the second time I have heard someone say they did not include enough proof of an ongoing relationship and getting an RFE. No doubt you must prove you have met in the last two years, and sources of this evidence you have listed are usually accepted as primary and secondary evidence. It has been generally held that the service centers do not adjudicate on the basis of an ongoing relationship, that that question is adjudicated at the embassy interview. But I wonder if this portends a shift in policy? (or perhaps their is one adjudicator who looks more closely at this issue then others?)

Just wondering if there is a pattern forming?

Either way, including passport stamps, bank statements showing withdraws from both accounts in the same place, boarding passes, other tickets, are absolutely necessary to prove you have met in the last two years. Photos can be used as secondary evidence to show that you have met and an ongoing relationship.

Whatever the exact wording of the RFE, I would include exactly what it asks for, in addition to everything outline by the guideline provided by this website. You shouln't see the information it requests as a substitute for the things this website recommends, just as additional information you must include.

Once you get the RFE, can you post the exact language it uses?
