I thought i would post this, I was searching for flights for 28th June, I looked on www.ba.com website and it was £596.00 one way to Atlanta, I then checked on www.travelocity.co.uk and the exact same flight was £495.40 £100 cheaper.

I think BA are quality to fly with and would more than likely choose to fly with them :)

I'd take virgin over BA any day :star: They're much nicer, better in flight entertainment, more comfortable. And they don't seem to lose planeloads of luggage like BA

Depends where your flying to and from i guess, never had my luggage lost but know people that have on virgin;

I always flew with BA.. almost every time the plane was quite empty and i got to sit where ever I liked and even lay across the 3 seats. then our last BA plane we booked got canceled and their call line was closed so we had no way to find out what to do.. they were nice enough to put us on Virgin.. then BA started to have strikes so we switched to Virgin since then but the last Virgin flight I took wasn't near as nice as BA. both going and coming home were about 2 hours delayed! annoying.. probably going back to BA for his last flight home but trying to avoid heathrow because they're losing tons of baggage these days and travelers insurance doesn't cover it any more!

Yes I agree, Il fly BA home to Jay, and I think there luggage allowance is good, but it may be the same as others not sure. I have to fly into Atlanta and they only go from Gatwick, now that is a pain lol.

We've used all sorts of different search sites (Travelocity, Opodo, etc) to find which airlines have what flights scheduled from Heathrow/Gatwick to NYC and for how much... but have never failed to get the cheapest rate by then booking directly through the airline website itself.

We've recently used BA, Continental and American. Never managed to get a Virgin flight.

He's of course happy when BA comes in the cheapest. ;)

Try www.flyzoom.com

they fly from London Gatwick to Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Halifax, Montreal, Fort Lauderdale, Winnipeg, Bermuda, New York, San Diego.

We found the price to be good with these into New York, only problem is you have to book another flight with another airline once you get to New York, we used JetBlue to fly from New York to Maine.

Hey all,

This is the first time i've posted here as this is my fiances account but I thought I would tell you the cheapest way I have found to fly. A lot people don't know you can book though the continental website and buy flights from the UK to the US and other parts of the world.

So far my prices have smashed all the above with £335 a full round trip which I will just try and sell the ticket back to continental if they want it. Either way, a single trip would have cost me around £550 or so.

you can book though www.continental.com/uk

Also to drop the price in fairs as if your going one way do the return flight but make sure you come back on a Thursday and fly out on a Monday. While messing around with the website and dates we worked out the best way to keep ticket prices low. Seems Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are all expensive, also leave around a 2 week gap in the return flight and the prices will drop me.

One thing that did amaze me about the prices of the these tickets were they were only booked 2 weeks before I am flying out. Now that fuel prices have gone up i'm not sure if it's affected the prices majority but that's my suggestion.

Oh one other thing, there is a transfer in the middle of the flight but if you can put up with that the prices will be much lower than a full long haul flight.

Hope this is helpful

- Chris

I was just looking ahead and to see what flights i could get for around September. I got a price which is one way Stansted - JFK $287 using vayama.com Then a flight from JFK - Atlanta or Charlotte $115 using cheaptickets.com. Thats around $400 for a one way flight. Bonus is the cheap flight into JFK if anyone wishes getting the passport stamped for EAD.
