God Christ. Haven't read most of this post, to be fair, just saw the piccys at the beginning...but damn... I bet a lot of peaceful, proper Muslims are sitting there feeling very sad right now at the actions of a few nasty, misguided individuals.

They need to confront the criminal elements that hide in their midst in public. That would be a loud and strong action, a signal and a message that many people of many faiths could and would get behind.

That is what is required, no religion should harbour the criminal elements, and I feel that instead of preaching hatred as some of the Imans do, they should, as someone else suggested, ban these people from their midst and start teaching that respect is given to the host country.

As I said previously in an earlier reply, it is the law abiding peaceful muslims that will be bearing the brunt of all this ill feeling that is being brought about by these horrible fanatics, and that is definitely not right.

If all good people of all faiths stood together, then just maybe the message would go out loud and clear to this murderous element of what is described as a peaceful religion, that they are not wanted and will not be tolerated. although I will not hold my breath.

One comment that was written in one of the daily papers here from a reader, noted that since the police cracked down on the people who were involved int he Bradford riots here, and imposed prison sentences, all during these violent demonstrations nothing has been heard from that area. Perhaps that should tell other police forces that allowing these types of demonstrations, standing back and watching the horrendous slogans being paraded, does not work - they need to do something, but again I will not hold my breath.

Huh? They can protest and hold up placcards. Just like anyone else. They cannot terrorize our streets. The type of placcards that have been on display in Europe ought to land people in jail for committing acts of terror and inciting hate and violence. That is not terrorizing some Muslims but protecting the citizenry at large from being terrorized. Has nothing at all to do with Nazi Germany either.

i think you ought to differentiate between the 19 hijackers that came here with the ill intentions, and the remaining 4,5,6 however many million that have been here for generations - and have no ill intentions...yes, there maybe a handful of them that have ill intentions - however, there are also a handful of xtians that may have ill intentions - to lump them in with the rest of the christian population is crazy talk.
