We were finally approved today. I just wanted to share some of the details.

1. Our appointment was at 10:00am, we arrived around 9:30. Long lines, waiting area was standing room only. We sat from about 10:00 until 1:00pm before we were called in.

2. We were asked if we need a translator, but my husband declined.

3. The very first thing that we were asked for was the I-94s. Now, the original that we had gotten when we came in on the k-1 was fotocopied and included with the packet, but it was not very legible, the date that is. We no longer had the original b/c we used the advanced parole, so it was removed and a new one attached to my husbands passport. I thought this was going to be a HUGE problem just by the guys tone. BUT.... he asked us where my husband entered, and the date. He found him in the system. One down!!

4. He asked "did you see a dr. in your home country" What did you do with the packet, because I don't have it here" OK I Started sweating, we gave it to the officer at POE. He continued looking through the packet, I saw him reading the Vaccination worksheet I had sent in with the packet, WE NEVER GOT THE VACCINATION SUPPLEMENT.. I guess it was good enough for this particular officer. (thank god!)

5. We were asked "Where did we meet, how long have we known each other,a few more basics"

6. I was asked for a copy of my income tax documents EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT REQUESTED ON THE LETTER. Thank god I have followed this forum!! I handed my 2005 taxes.

7. We were asked for joint accounts, and never asked for pictures, however I showed them to him, he spent a long while looking through them.

8. There was silence for a while.. made me nervous. He asked me about any other names I have used, so I provided my maiden name.

9. I saw the big approved stamp going onto the application, but I still thought we were going to be asked to come back with the medical, but the officer looked up and advised us that we were approved. woooooooooooooo

I thought I was gonna cry or puke, luckily neither happened. Most of the officers seemed to be very nice. I actually bumped into a friend while I was there, she was going for her 10 year interview, and her husband *(USC) did not show up for the interview. Apparently the marriage is sour. But anyway, she still went through with her interview. The officer asked where her husband was, she was honest, she said he barely stays home anymore, and couldn't be bothered to come. SHE WAS APPROVED. I was happy for her but very surprised. Thought I would share that with all of you! Long, long waits were the only barrier. I did over hear employee's commenting that they could not believe how busy it was today.

By the way what's the story of your friend?

What kind of 10 year interview, never heard of any 10 year interview...

Oh you mean to remove conditions?

They had to have another interview?

Just curious.

Thanks,

Anna

6. I was asked for a copy of my income tax documents EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT REQUESTED ON THE LETTER. Thank god I have followed this forum!! I handed my 2005 taxes.

It's pretty typical for them to ask for the updated financial info at the interview -- income tax returns, employment letters, recent paystubs. Good thing you had it.

Congratulation on the approval!

Thanks everyone! NYC, yes, the interview was for the removal of conditions. I am not too sure about the details. The young womans little brother (13) is my son's best friend. I had no idea she was even going through the process until we bumped into each other at the interview.
