a friend of mine got RFE saying need to provide police clearance/certificate from the places he stayed or live in. he is from el salvador then he stayed in Nebraska and California and now he is in Michigan with his wife. question is does he need to get police clearance from Nebraska and California? If so, does anybody knows what exactly needs to do? Appreciate your help.

Thanks!

I have read before that they do not require police clearance from US - they already have that in their systems. Dig through the forums and you might find some postings about that. He would definitely need on from El Salvador but not from US states. Good Luck

You need a Police Certificate for each country you have lived in for more than 6 month, except the USA, as the USCIS will conduct their own background checks using the FBI based on finger prints.
