letter from the bank????

Compass bank doesnt know what this letter is all about.. hubby told them it should include the date when the account was started, total amount deposited for the past year and current balance... but they gave him the statements instead....

pls help... my interview is on thursday... hubby will go to bank once more and ask...

any help will be appreciated...

It's called "Bank Certification." It is exactly what your hubby told them.

My wife got one from Equitable PCI.

If you're talking to a bank representative who can't understand the instructions on the I-134. I would talk to someone else.

This is an easy statement for them to type up if they're customer oriented enough not to 'blow you off'.

Correct, but if the income is sufficient the Consular officer won't be worried about a letter from the bank. Hopefully the income is documented with tax transcripts and pay stubs.

How many pay stubs do you recommend? Should they be recent and concurrent or span a long period of time?

I dont know, but Im saving every one for this year, if you dont have them, ask you accounting dept to print a log of you recent pays. But start saving them now. Dont take any chances.

Depends on the pay stub. Most show year to date income. In that case, there's really no need for one fairly current one but a few might be a good idea.

I gave them 6 months worth of paystubs, October to March, last one being less than 2 weeks prior to interview. My employment letter was from December (when my wife turned in her checklist and DS156, which is when she was supposed to get the I134 from me.

To the OP, if your income is not sufficient and you need a bank letter, have your hubby go to the bank, take the statements with him that covers the 1 year span required. Have him tell the rep that he needs a letter stating the balance of his account, the date it was open, and the total deposits for the last year. They shouldn't ask why he needs it, but if they do he can say its for an Affidavit of support. The statements will allow them to easily sum the deposits, or else they will have to go through the accounts history, and they rep will complain about the extra work they are doing. There may be a nominal fee for the letter depending on the bank and your relationship level with them (i.e. the bigger the account balance, the less the chance of them daring to ask you to pay $7 to get a letter).

Yes. Mine show YTD info.

Maybe taking the last one in December and the first one in January (to show there is a YTD reset) for a couple years would be a good idea.

this is why it is always nice to consult the VJ People!! members like you guys are the best!! thank you all for the replies... yup we are above poverty line, hahaha,, and we're just doing the overkill... im sure the consul wont even ask the letter from the bank... employment certificate, 4 months of pay stubs with YTD, W2's and 1040 and tax transcripts are ready to go..... all that i need i guess.... i have bank statements if they asked.... wont bother to request for a letter from the bank for that...
