I had my interview on april 18, 2008..... yesturday.

I've been folowing this forum since we started, and everything had been smooth...

At the interview....

Q. The consul asked me why I had filled for 3 tourist visas and 2 student visa between 1999-2005.

A. Because I wanted to travel while tourist visa, and I wanted to study electronic engineer, and since I wasn't aproved, I studied here in my country.

Q. How are your mother and sisters there?

A. My mother and my little sister, under political asilum, my other sister is married. All of them are legal residents.

Q.How did you and your fiance meet?

A. I've know her since school.

Q. When did your romantic relation started?

A. june 2007

Q. When was the last time she came to visit?

A. September

Q. Why didn't she came back after?

A. Because we are saving money for our honey-moon, and besides her job won't let her.....she has a very busy day.

Q. Let me see the evidence

A. sure.

I gave her 2 inches of paper.... Pictures, emails, phone calls.

SHE DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT WHAT I GAVE HER, SHE JUST PLACED ON TOP OF OTHER PAPERS SHE HAD WITH HER......

and said....." I was not convinced of your relation, I think you are just friends"

I said...." but you didn't even look at the evidence I gave you, We even talk with my fiance sometimes 3 times in a day"

she said ... " YES I DID LOOK AT YOUR EVIDENCE, AND I WAS NOT CONVINCED" ( she was already telling me to back-off)

She said.... " I will give you an opportunity.... come back to an interview with your fiance..."

She then gave me a paper that said that I wasn't elegible because of evidence, and in order for me to be elegible, I would have to bring evidence like (emails, pictures, phone bills.... etc...)

Under that she wrote whith her pencil.... INTERVIEW WITH FIANCE ( sugested)

She stayed with my passport, and said I had ONE YEAR to complete this...

I said, OK, Thank You very much then. Good-bye

NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the f''' am I suppose to do? My girl is not going to be able to come, not a least in about 4 months.......

( I know I can go any day to the embassy, but if I'm not taking my girl with me, that is going to be a sure DENIAL )

THOUGHTS???? please!!!

Posted

Wow :( I'm sorry.

Perhaps wait the 4 months until your girl is able to come and then have her join you at the interview.

Perhaps someone else has a better idea.

Best of luck to you.

I'm sorry to hear that you wont be so soon with your fiancee, I came into US in a fiance visa and since the beggining of the process its been long and painfull, but now finally we are happy married. :D

We apply in april 2007 for the K1 and then our interview was in November, The lady checked my passport and said:

so you have been in US? what were u doing there?

Yes, visiting with my family and visiting my fiance...

and you have a visa to England what were u doing there? for how long?

Studying english, I was there for 1.5 years..

How long do u know your fiance? how many times have u seen him?

1 year, thousands... he travels evry month twice

Well i can not give u the visa today because I need you to bring me a police clearance from england and as soon as you have it bring it any day at 7 am. (it took us more than 40 days to get that thing).

I think you should go to the embassy with her, review everything again to see if something is missing on the information, be confident (I personally think that the embassador was focused in the fact that you were friends for long time and then suddenly you started a love relation so I think that might be the reason they are deniying it, say what happened explain very clearly, and I'm sure everything will be just fine, you will have here sooner than you expected.

with this sort of 221 g denial, you need to give them exactly what they ask for, if the VO suggests the petitioner attend you would be very wise to do it.

Gather all the documents you can, phone bills, emails, messenger chat logs, photos, plan tickets everything. They are asking you to prove that your relationship is bonafide.

Good luck

gchagui: Friend of my wife had similar thing happen to her back on April 1 in Bogota. She had applied for visas to US before and had been denied within the last two or three years - apparently that makes them think that she is trying any means to get to USA and therefore asked her to bring her USC fiancee with her. She is going back with her fiancee on May2. I think you are in a similar situation and would need to have your fiancee at the interview. 4 months is not too bad if she can make it then. You will need to schedule an interview ahead of time. Good Luck

Yeah, there's really not going to be a way around this. Your fiancee will need to attend another interview with you to demonstrate you have a bona fide relationship. You should both be prepared to answer pointed questions about your relationship.

people tell us she should come to my country couple of days before the interview, and marry me in my country, and take this as a prove....

I just don't know what to think.....or do

Don't listen to those people. If you marry, you are no longer a fiance and cannot be granted a fiance, K1 visa. You would have to start the process from the beginning with the US Citizen filing a petition for a spouse visa.

A wedding is not evidence of a bona fide relationship. I'm sure they believe you'll get married in the USA. The issue is the relationship not a wedding.

Fax what? What proof?

We were thinking to fax to the embassy a medical excuse, stating she cannot go in an airplane until her treatment is over, ( because the consul may think that my fiance is to come with in a month, even though we have 1 year to go to the embassy for the interview)..just thinking that it would be kind of weird for her to show up in a long period of time....

We were also thinking to call the NVC, and explainto them she won't be able to come!

Thanks for your help!
