Hi Everyone,

This morning I called NVC and the automated system stated my case is complete as of 4/15/08 and that I should wait 8 wks for furture instructions. :dance: The funny thing is all now my husband hasn't receive his DS230. I'm currently in jamaica on vac and this is such wonderful news to both of us and his family. All we have to do is get pass the interview. I would just like to thank everyone who have given advice on this forum. I read this forum thoroughly and had NO RFE's throughout the process.

The journey continues. Thanks again.

Hey Tash;

Congrats on getting case complete. My SO's case was completed on 3/3/08 and he got an interview dates scheduled for 5/6/08. That is approximately 2 months but I got info about the interview date on 3/25. You should keep calling NVC and make sure you talk to an operator and try to convince them to give you the date. Try to impress upon them that you are currently in Ja and would like to know if a date can be scheduled before you return to the states, unless you are planning to be there for a while.

Will you be staying there for a while? If so, I would implore you to email the embassy and ask if you can come pick up a duplicate packet for the interview as soon as you find out the interview date. You will need this letter to get the medical done and enter the embassy on the date of your husband's interview. Unless you have someone here in the states to send you your copy, you will be waiting forever to get correspondence in JA. The letter will be mailed from the US and will get to your US address faster.

Well Congrats,

I reviewed your timeline and saw we were on or about the same track. I decided to contact the NVC and heard that our case was completed yesterday. :) :). I am so happy right now. I just called my husband and he was watching cricket and started yelling louder than the TV.

I just hope I will be able to travel by the time of the interview. Boy I hope this fracture ankle will not stop me. I really want to be there.

Tash you are not too far as I work in Plantation.

:) :)

Thanks Clairern for the advice as always. As mentioned above I will not stay much longer. I actually return tomorrow. I was down here from April 10th. Just using some vac time, gotta go back to work. But I will def keep up with calling NVC and see if they can give me a interview date. I see it took you about 3 wks time to get your date. I will wait the same amount of time. Yes I know how the mailing system is, extremely slow. So as usual I will Fed Ex him the paperwork to bring for the medical.

Thanks again.

Congrats Forbes,

The response I got from my husband was just a BIG SMILE. He doesn't want to show too much emotions until everything is finalized he says, lol. Well I had to be the one making all the noise for both of us, lol. Yes our timeline is right on track and practical just down the street from one another. Who can tell, we may get the same interview date. Ok then, I hope you settled down and off that fracture ankle. Get well soon. Going to need it to run into hubby's arms. lol

Tash;

Not to be a big mouth, :lol::lol: (like that ever stopped me) :no: but DHL is cheaper and faster than Fedex. Earlier this year I tried sending a package with them and they quoted me $90 to get there in 4-5 days and I was being required to fil out all sorts of customs delarations.

I went to DHL and paid $48 and it got there in 4 days and I did not have to fill out anything but the address label. Last week Friday I sent Mike his interview letter and he got it on Tuesday and they do not work on Sundays. I do not know why there is such a big difference in price but you can compare and see.

Good luck :thumbs:

I think our men are superstitious. Mike does not want to talk about anything to do with his interview date or travel plans. He did not get excited about the date either. I was jumping out of my clothes, I was so happy. He is cool, calm and collected. He states "When I get the visa in my hand I will talk about what my plans are. I don't want to jinx anything." I am like "WTH"!!!!LOL

When he gets it I going to like "wait, my glad-bag bubble is already busted, and the excitement is gone." LOL
