What I've been doing today...

I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers, sister. It is sobering to see our parents age to where they can no longer do the things they've done all their lives.

My father had his hip replaced last September while vacationing in Irelad - he is 80. Earlier this week, while my mother and he were watching the evening news, he started to black out. She took him to the emergency room and the next day, he had a pacemaker put into his left shoulder. His arm is in a sling to remind him not to lift or use his arm for about 3 weeks. They just bought a house a few months ago and have already received threatening letters from their HOA because the Weed Nazis, as my mother calls them, noticed some weeds in their front yard. My father has always taken loving care of his yards and gardens, but with his hip replacement and now pacemaker, he just can't give it the attention he always had before and I know that must really hurt him deeply. And my mother is having episodes of neuropathy in her foot, a byproduct of her diabetes. She's 6 years younger than my Dad.

Rebeccajo, I don't want to detract from your ordeal, but wanted to share with you that I can relate to what you must be going through. Hang in there and hope that you and your sister will not be overwhelmed.
