my fiancee in US got the NOA2 on 10th March. Today when she called the NVC they told her to contact Visa Office in Washington.

The latter told her that it has already been despatched to Mumbai and I should have received it.

When I called the NVC at its automated response, it said they don't have any details about it.

What could have happened ?

K1 applications do not go on the automated message at NVC, it is best to speak to a person who can confirm the position of your file.

Are you sure they have not received it? It is quite possible that the petition has been received and they are sending your loved one the Packet 3.

You can email the Mumbai consulate and check about the status of your application, they will let you know whether they have it or not, if they do and when your date might be, they normally post it on the consulate website.
