Hi, I enter the US with my tourist visa and got married with a american citizen. I came back to my country and he applied for CR1, it was aproved and Im waiting for my interview. I have my marriage certificate certified copy with me, ,,,Im sorry if this question sounds dumb,,, :blush: but... Am I legally married in my country (Colombia)? Or do I have to take our US wedding certificate to make it valid in Colombia? Thanks...

I dont know about Columbia but I do know that here in Australia they would not recognise my US marriage certificate itself so I had to do a change of name in order for it to be recognised officially. Perhaps someone here from Columbia can tell you for certain, otherwise contact the department in Columbia that has juristiction over marriages and they should be able to answer that for you.
