Happy Friday to everyone! I'm definitely happy today, even if I am sitting inside at work on an 80 degree day because Abdel is back at work after being out since February. It's just temp work, but that's better than nothing, and it's way easier than what he did at the refinery for almost 2 years.

I also got a call yesterday from the Red Cross that they want to pay another month of our bills so that's going to help a lot. Unemployment has been some help, but not as much as he was making of course.

Sara and Gabi, I wish I could see your babies pics but they aren't coming up here at work for some reason. Do either of you use a Snugli? I had one with my first son and loved it. I'll get to use one tonight with my grandson since my ex came to see our son last weekend and bought them one. It's much easier than lugging around a carseat and baby can stay close while you clean house and stuff.

Amal, are you feeling any better today? I thought I had food poisoning last week but after spending all weekend sick I went to the doctor and found out I had a bad bladder infection. Having a couple of kids can kill the nerves that normally let us know when we're getting sick and keep us from getting treatment before things get to a bad stage that can feel like food poisoning. If you're still sick I'd say get to the doc and make sure it isn't something else.

Does anybody else's husband eat the Prickly Pear fruit - seeds and all? We get it at the flea market from a Hispanic produce vendor and I can't believe Abdel eats those huge seeds. I've never heard of the jabuticaba fruit before. Guess I learned something new today.

someone asked where they can find chick peas and falafal mix yesterday and i dont remmeber who and too lazy to look over all the posts to find out...so here u r if u havent found them already.

http://www.daynasmarket.com/index.html

also does any one know the english word for the fruit thats called sabara in arabic? im going crazy trying to figure out what this fruit is and if they sell it in the united states. we got it in syria in roadside booths and we still havent found it at the stores here. my husband only knows the arabic name for it. its not guava and ive googled it and they come up with a fruit in brazil by this name but its not that either. i just remember it has tons of seeds in it. the fruit dont taste bad it just the seeds that always got to me.

is this it

I think this might be the fruit ur talkin about. it is called "jabuticaba".....

im not sure thats it. i saw a pic of that and im not remembering it to look like that but i will ask hassan later when he comes home. that looked like it grew on a bush and hassan said its from a cactus.

Let us have cake, you all better stop talking about cake, I could commit crime for some good cake. I AM HUNGRY NOW FOR CAKE

Happy Friday everyone!!!!!!

Amy, please be careful doing that physical stuff in the yard. Ayeshia might not like it.

My baby boy Iggy died in my arms this morning at 9:30 a.m. He was the first cat I ever had, always had dogs, and he was the coolest cat there ever was. I love him very much and will miss him with all my heart.

g'morning everyone. all is well in the world, jackie has a sexy voice, gabi has a pineapple, and geg rocks!:dance:

A little update on our baby pineapple: He had his 2 month checkup today. He weighs 16 pounds, 2 ounces and is 23 inches long. Big ol pineapple

Maybe I will try to take an updated photo of the girl showcasing her 2 new teeth :)

That baby is just criminally cute. She really favors her daddy.

I posted more pics in our special place for you:) We dont have a snuggli yet, but we plan to buy one as soon as we get caught up on bills.

awwww what a cutie patootie i wanna squish those chubby cheeks soooo bad!!! lol

Hubby made it to the place that the prayers were held at and I'm impressed on both his subway navigational skills AND his ability to find the place! It's in the basement of some church but apparently he did just fine and is now waiting to catch the bus to the subway back home to ME :luv: Kids are getting picked up soon by their stepmom and then it's just him and me until next Wednesday. I'm on vacation starting in an hour for a week, though we fly out Sunday to get my operation and will be flying back here on Tuesday. Tonight and tomorrow will be stocking up on foods easy to prepare and little things needed for the operation like ice packs, etc.

Can't wait till this is over so we can just relax!!!:dance::dance::dance:

The kids had a BLAST last night taste testing with him different types of leb and some other things like this carob thing that looks like a blackened banana peel but it's hard and crunchy. He's also now got my oldest into the habit of eating potato chips with tabasco sauce on it. It's like their little "thing" that only they do while my youngest and I with the weak stomach just stare at them in disbelief.

I am sorry for you loss Sandy.

I am glad it's Friday. I am really really really glad it's Friday!

I got to spend several hours on the phone last night with Waleed and he put me to bed just as everyone was getting crazy and busy in his house. We were having fun planning what we are going to do for our second anniversary when I go visit Egypt this Dec.

9 months and counting! Whoot!

Yassmine, is that a baby or a football player? He is adorable!

(((((((HUGS))))))).

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
