Process for K1 Interview Notification

Once our I-129F petition is approved, Frankfurt is where David will have to go for his interview.

How will he receive notification of his interview date? Is it by snail mail there in Germany? Will I know about it via checking the status of our case online? Just wondering in case he is traveling at the time his notification arrives...

He's s British citizen living in Germany.... anyone know of anything we need to consider for this process since his citizinship is different than his country of residence?

He will receive notification via snail mail ,unfortunately once your case leaves the service centre there that is where online tracking ends. Provided he has residency in Germany his k1 process will be no different than doing it in the UK. Have a look at the timelines for Germany to get an idea of how long the process takes.

I agree with Adele, I myself process my K-1 Visa in foreign country. I am a Philippine citizen and I process in Hong Kong since I was working there and there's no problem. Your fiance needs to get a British police certificate and from other counrty that he stayed for more than 12 months and were 16 years or older at that time. Your fiance will know more about the requirements when he receive his packet 3 (instructions for fiance(e) visa application and document checklist) from the embassy.

Hello Jen,

My fiance has gone through the Frankfurt embassy. once it left the NVC it went very fast. as you can see from my timeline...... the only thing that is taking awhile is the interview. it was scheduled a little over a month from the time we received packet four. as far as the snail mail my fiance received everything a day after they sent it so the mail is very fast!!!!
