So the other day I went out shopping. As I was passing Starbucks in the mall, I noticed group of girlfriends chatting and laughing. All of a sudden, I fell sad. HEY -Where are my friends? I have been here in US for 18 moths and still don’t have any good friends. I miss my friends back in Prague, CZ.

The thing is, I DO socialize. I go to school five times a week. I go to yoga and gym, but still can not find somebody to talk to, go to movies or shopping.

My loneliness takes toll on my marriage, too. My husband comes back from work and I start to b*** My husband has to go to chick flick movies with me…. Etc

Is anybody in the same situation? Better yet, is anybody from Pensacola, Florida?

i am sorry to hear that you are feeling lonely =[ i used to live not so far from pensacola (in tallahassee, if you know where that is lol), but i dont live there anymore...someone posted a similar situation the other day, and another person replied and told them to try www.meetup.com...there will most certainly be some things in your area that will interest you...good luck and i hope you feel better =]

Read the book hor to make friends.

I lived in P'cola for 7 years and loved it there. Wish I was still there to show you around....but there's a lot to do there (although I know it's not fun to do stuff alone). The beaches alone are incredible!!!

Hope you find some buddies and enjoy life there!

P.S. Downtown P'cola has a lot of historic sites/quaint shops, if you like shopping. Also, there are a lot of coffee shops around, ideal for relaxing/chatting. Try the Drowsy Poet on Brent Lane.

“Why do the righteous suffer?” someone asked C.S. Lewis. He replied: “They are the only ones that can handle it.”

Making friends in USA is hard...

Not because Americans aren't friendly...but just because people are much more "private" in their lives here.

I am an American and I moved around the USA throughout my life. I can say it takes a good couple of years before you start making REAL FRIENDS. I mean, people you hang out with and who you can share details of your private life with.
