Does anyone have any idea when the new Raleigh office will actually open and if they will transfer some of the cases from Charlotte to there? It would be nice if they would, especially sine we live in Raleigh.

I must be behind the 8-ball...I had no idea they were opening an office in Raleigh. We're about to apply for AOS and this would be an absolute blessing, since 1) we live closer to Raleigh (eastern NC) and 2) I've never ONCE been to Charlotte!!!!, 3) the drive is at least half as short. Will look into some more since this is of particular interest to us!!!

I just saw a press release about the groundbreaking for the Raleigh office in July of 2007. It said the office would be opening in March of 2008, so maybe us eastern NC folks can get transferred to the Raleigh office!!! I might call the USCIS hotline and see if it has opened yet.

I was just at the Charlotte USCIS office yesterday morning and the agent I was working with commented that it would be 'very soon'. Had I seen your question before I went I would have asked her for more detail, but for now all I have is 'very soon'.

Best of luck!

I went to Charlotte for my Infopass and bio appointment on 4/28 and they asked why didnt I do it in Raleigh... and they said it's already open..

So they said that if you get the appointment and it said to go to Charlotte, send it back and request for Raleigh office instead.

too bad I didnt know this before I drove 3 hrs there and 3 hrs back!

I am glad they opened a office in Raleigh/Durham... unfortunately they sent me to Charlotte for my biometrics (for i-175) about 2 weeks after they opened and there were others from RDU there too... i guess the letter was generated after they opened... It was nice to see Charlotte though... but 3 hour drive for finger prints is sad... You can make infopass appointments for them now... but only for certain things... but at least for those things we don't have to go so far!

Mailed N-400 March 6th via priority certified mail and Rec'd 9th (confirmation by USPS)

I was sent to Charlotte too even we live just 20 minutes away from the Raleigh/Durham office.. but I called USCIS and they allowed me to have my biometrics in the new office in Raleigh.. so we save gas :star:

They are nice and accommodating.. :) and fast too because it's not busy..
