Received NOA2 - Can I still travel?

Hi all, apologies for another "can I travel" thread, but I have a very specific situation and I'm having trouble finding info on it.

We have received our NOA2 (April 14th), but I have been planning to travel to the US (I'm the beneficiary) for a few weeks at the beginning of May (which would put me over there when the Dublin Embassy receives the petition and sends out Package 3).

I know that there are a couple of background checks and name checks that go on around this stage, and I'm wondering, is it still ok for me to travel to the US (with proof of ties to Ireland, of course)? And is there a possibility that my trip could affect the background checks?

Any help would be greatly apprciated...

Thanks so much.

Daragh

Hi Daragh, congratulations on your Noa2! Your trip shouldn't have any effect on the process. Just be aware that ultimately your entry is still at the discresion of the POE officer.

Thanks Kim and / or Russ! ;)

It's definitely an exciting time!

Yeah, I'm keenly aware that entry is at the discretion of the POE Officer so I intend to bring as much evidence as possible to show my intention to return to Ireland.

I just hope that it doesn't mess up the background checks!

Thanks again!
