hey peeps/ i just sent out my packet 3 (yay) how long does it usually take to hear bck? another thing i just started to worry about. my fiancee is at university and doesnt meet the required income, so her aunt filed the affidavit of support as a co- sponser. will this affect me at the interview? or should i have told them before? i have my medical on the 1st of may and everything is just starting to get heavy lol

To hear back it really depends on the consulate how fast they work.

For the affidavit as long as her aunt meets the poverty line you shouldnt have any problems and make sure your fiancee fills one out too even tho she is in university she still needs to fill out the affidavit of support because she is the primary sponsor goodluck.

You can contact the Department of State to recieve and update on your petition and to find out if an interview has been scheduled. The phone number is 202-663-1225. Option 1 then 0.

i believe that your going through London.. if I'm right ....... it will take 1-5 weeks to get packet 4 and your interview will be 2-4 weeks after that... thats the trend it usually follows.. our packet 4 came back in 6 days and our interview is bout 3 weeks after receiving packet 4. i called the DOS 4 days after we sent packet 3 just to make sure they received packet 3 and they had already schedule us an interview date so i was very pleased at how fast London really was.

you need an affidavit of support from your fiance and from your fiance's aunt the co-sponsor. they both have to be notarized. you also need (from your co-sponsor) 3 years tax returns, letter from employer, pay stubs, bank statements and a copy of her birth certificate. if you have all that you have nothing to worry about.
