Ok Charles, this is for you. As long as no trolls come back I might drop in more often. We mailed our lifting of conditions package last week and our check was cashed yesterday. Hopefully we'll get the NOA before Abdel's green card expires in June so we won't have to go to Atlanta for an infopass appointment to get his passport stamped.

Abdel has been on unemployment since February when the sugar refinery where he worked exploded, but today he finally got temp work through an agency, and then the contractor he had worked for at the refinery called while he was home for lunch to say they had work for him if he wanted it. Thank goodness because he was getting bored at home. There are plenty of honey-do projects needing done, but with graduation in 2 1/2 weeks I haven't had time to teach him how to do any of them.

Tonight I have a 10 minute one-on-one interview with my professor in Spanish so I'm cramming in the last few words I need to remember to answer the questions I wrote for him to ask me. After this I don't have any more assignments until finals which for some insane reason are the week after graduation! After my interview tonight we're going to a movie sponsored by the French Club at the university - in French of course. Abdel loves these events so we try to go to as many of them as we can.

Boy can I relate to the cat issue Jackie! Abdel's cat wakes ME up to feed her every day, even on the weekends, by 7 AM. I do have a cure for insomnia though - Benadryl. Allergies are in full bloom down here so after breaking out in hives last weekend I started taking it every night that I feel even the tiniest bit sniffly or itchy. Not only does it stop the sniffles and itching, it makes me sleep like a rock.

Geesh Amal, food poisoning isn't the best diet plan to try! :dead: Although one thing it will do is reduce your appetite. I was sick a couple of weeks ago and now I can only eat half as much in one sitting. I'm sure not complaining about that!

For those who haven't talked to me in a while, I became a grandma about 3 weeks ago. My new grandson is Gabriel and he's a tiny little sweetheart. Abdel and I will probably get him Friday night for as long as we can handle him and his older half brother who is 4 1/2 (usually until some time Saturday) This will be our first time to keep him overnight so I'm starting to get excited. Abdel wants a baby but this will be as close as he will get to that. We've kept the older boy a few times, but never the baby.

Ok, I'm writing a book again so I'll sign off.

Later,

Liz

Jenn, can I have some of yoru iced coffee??? :crying: It's been 5 months now and no coffee!!! :crying: I did discover a new drink I can have at Starbucks, Steamers! Just plain steamed milk with flavored syrup, not bad...

I just want to say, with all these pregnant women around why didn't anyone warn me about hips stretching???? SOOOO painful! What else do I have to look forward to???

Last night we went out looking for nursery furniture because things are finally starting to feel real! I had a few complications with the pregnancy and ended up doing an amnio. We got the results back 2 days ago and everything is fine so now we are actually in the mood to start getting ready for my little JP!

BTW whoever posted that cafepress website the other day, thank you!!! I found the perfect little shirt for baby Taleen. It says "This is what a Jordanian Princess looks like". :star:

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

Well, I have 2 things I learned about from my friend that no one had told me about birth. One is that afterwards in the hospital, they now make you wear an ice diaper. The second one is really yuck, but involves the after time when apparantly you can lay these clots up to egg-size and beyond. Gross!!!!!

Good afternoon Mena! I'm busy at home cleaning because our home is being shown tonight. Keep your fingers crossed for us it sells, please! This is the last Thursday I will talk to my SO online. He will be leaving next Thursday to come home to us. We are so excited and Im a little nervous. I just want him to feel like this is his home and enjoy his life with myself and his son.

I'm trying to think if I have any baby advice for you JP. The clot stuff...I agree but I hope you do not have anything compared to what I had to go through having Malek. I will tell you that at the end of my pregnancy I felt like he was trying to scratch his way out!!! I am not sure either if he liked his daddy around me or not but if he had his back to my belly at night Malek would kick his back to the point where he had to scoot over. (That was fine with me more room!) Oh, another thing I've experienced with my son is baby acne. Hopefully Tareen will not get this but Malek has it now and his little face looks so broke out and dry in spots. AWWWWWW, I remember those sweet days of being pregnant and actually miss it now. Best wishes to you and Kelly.

It sounds like everybody has a good start to their Thursday. I wish you all a wonderful afternoon and many visas to come. God bless!

Tasha

I never gave up coffee when I was pregnant. Is this something new? I don't know if I could do that so I'd probably still have one cup in the morning, though to be honest the smell of coffee used to gross me out when I was pregnant before so I think I drank tea.

What the heck is an ice diaper??? Is that for the baby or the mommy? I had 2 c-sections so I have no experience with most of the labor stuff.

Mom, to help with the swelling down there after VB.

I've heard up to one cup of coffee a day isn't bad, but it's probably recomended to jsut give it up altogether.

I never used an "ice diaper" but they did give me a latex glove filled with ice to put on my perineum after the episiotomy/tearing. Really messy and uncomfy once it started melting.

Yeah, I've heard of varying methods... but apparantly there is a diaper now that they put a changeable baggie of ice inside, and they will come and change it as it melts (and it's sealed to prevent mess).
