Try emailing NVC to get IIN. It might be slower that calling to get IIN but eventually they'll reply. I sent the email asking for IIN on 04/15 and got an email back with IIN on 11/21, even though I already obtained it by talking with operator.

Did you get exact same IIN via e-mail as you had it on the phone?

-- I have a question in reference to I-864 and DS 230 after I use the online bill payment. is there any dependency on DS-230 for I-864? (it doesn't seem that way from the NVC flowchart). Could I send DS-230 as soon as the barcode sheet is available via online payment method after my payment for IV bill is processed. (From looking at the other posts, this could be 2-3 days after mailing out my I-864)

There is no dependecny of Ds230 with I-864 as it seems with the NVC. My DS230 was generated before NVC processed my I-864 forms. However you cannot send the DS230 forms in until the automated system says it is generated which seems to be after they received payment of IV bill annd payment of AOS fee bill. So...DS230 generation is dependent on paying the bills not on processing the AOS forms.

You would get same IIN for AOS Fee Bill as well as IV Fee bill. NVC had online faq page explaining exact details of online payments few weeks ago but since online payment system is not working perfectly, or may be they were waiting for head of DOS or NVC's small signature and official announcement; the NVC removed this faq page. However I have captured some important points and updated WIKI page.

You will get one Invoice Identification Number (IIN) to pay both payments. Even, from online payment system you can pay AOS Fee Bill and IV Fee Bill at the same time. I read few days ago in this forum that someone even got his/her IIN calling the NVC operator even before his/her AOS Fee bill was generated.

I tried calling to get my invoice ID number and it didn't work, they told me that it wasn't working yet. The genltmen that helps me was kind of mean, I will try again later tonight and see what happens, but my forms have not even been generated yet, we will see

Wait until late tonight, say around 11pm eastern time. The night staff seem to be more willing to give it out. I guess it could really just be luck of the draw, though.

I guess so, but he went to ask his supervisor first if he could give it out, and it seemed like he had a speech for me from his supervisor stating that they would send me something in the mail 4 to 6 weeks...

I logged on to the online payment and saw that my AOS Bill is paid (finally.. )...but I also saw that I was able to pay IV bill too....so i did...but the automated message didn't state that the IV bill was generated...was it ok that i paid the IV bill even though the message didn't say so... ...do anyone think that will cause a problem...

Oh thats interesting, must mean that your IV bill was actually generated. I told you this process is super quick now that the online system is up. I'm sending in my DS230 monday, and I've noticed in most timelines that peoples cases are completed 2 weeks after the NVC receives NVC. You should be done within the next 3 weeks. And then the JA Embassy has interviews about 2 months after your complete date. So I'm thinking I'll have an interview my the last week in July, you'll probably get one in the 2nd week!

so you saying if it wasn't generated then it wouldn't allow me to pay for it right??....I hope so..I hope this doesn't mess me up since the automated message didn't say so...this process is really going super fast...I'm going to have to wait to send the DS230 because he just mail me the police record on friday and i won't get it until 10 business days...he is too cheap to pay for the express... ...I've only been in the NVC stage for less than 3 weeks...and my case is close to completion...hopefully no RFEs along the way...and hopefully me paying the IV bill doesn't cause anything either...I got excited when I saw I was able to pay and before I check the automated message I paid it...before it said "Not Invoiced" so I assumed since I was able to pay it it was generated...

for all our other payments, my husbad paid using his account but the iv bill is a bit tricky.

please advise.

Yes, as long as your husband's account and routing numbers are valid the bill can be paid online via direct withdrawal by you, the beneficiary.
